Remember The Titans is based on a true story. The movie takes place in Alexandria, Virginia in the years 1971-1981. Sheryl, Coach Yoast’s daughter, is the one who tells the story of the Titans. The movie starts off in a cemetery where Sheryl tells the story about the Titans and their journey. Football is the way of life for the boys in Virginia. This time in history, the T.C. Williams High School is the first school for integration of African Americans and Caucasians.

Coach Yoast, who is Caucasian, is the head coach of the football program at T.C. Williams High School. Coach Boone, who is African American, gets transferred to Alexandria, Virginia, where he is assigned to be the assistant football coach for Coach Yoast. Coach Boone eventually becomes the head coach, which stirs up some controversy for the parents and the Caucasian players. …show more content…

By the time they leave the camp, the players are friends and brothers to each other. Coach Boone is here to win and if he loses a single game, then Coach Yoast will be assigned to the head coach again. The Titans win all of their games and go into the championship with a 13-0 record. Gerry gets hit by a drunk driver and becomes paralyzed from the waist down right before they head into the championship. Julius steps up and leads the Titans to the championship game.
