Art is a way to visually express yourself on a creative platform where you never have to worry about suppressing or censor your true feelings. Recently I’ve read somewhere that art is a human skill as opposed to nature, a skill applied to music, painting, writing, poetry, etc. Though I still believe nature can be considered art too. Basically if something is made a certain way, then it can be treated as art. Generally speaking artist typically use their form of artwork to pass along their viewpoints or feelings. For example, we may tell ourselves that we are free and in control of our life’s but in reality we have little no control of what happens to us later down the road. One type of art form that frequently tears this down and deconstructs it is fictional storytelling. Particularly in the genre of sci-fi there is a sub genre, which is known as cyberpunk. It’s a projection of postmodernism that heavily features sci-fi elements that take place in a society where transformative cultural and technological advancements are commonly made. We currently live in the information age where art has relevantly manifested into this form by use of computers, smart apps, digital paintings and etc. This is what probably makes cyberpunk more compelling than the majority of other subgenres about science fiction because a lot of the elements are already prevalent in our present society such as the Internet, social media, artificial limbs and most recently virtual reality headsets. With this in mind I feel that it is important to realize how art has change the Internet. Specifically this new established path has given artist a collectively bigger platform to become more recognized and celebrated by allowing them to create their own gallery along with posting it online to expose more audiences to their work. Through the use of incorporating hashtags, instagram usernames and twitter handles. As a result almost any entry-level artist ranging from a person making a quick gif/meme relating to cultural event or person who daily creates art has the chance of becoming an overnight success.
