Waste reduction is the reduction of waste produced. You can do this by doing many different things. For example, using both sides of paper, reducing mail intake and export, and use reusable bags for transporting things. Recycling is a process of changing waste materials into a useable product again to prevent waste. Recycling was big in World War 2 because money was getting dumped into war efforts, the countries tried to reuse products and save money. For example, Great Britain made the Paper Salvage Campaign, which urged citizens to recycle to help the war effort. This idea of recycling was told to the public as an act of patriotism which increased the desire to recycle because they wanted to help and it was easy to do.

Recycling is done through three basic steps, collection and processing, manufacturing, and purchasing the new item made from recycling. Collection and processing is the collection of recyclable items and are changed into usable raw materials. Then, the raw material is made into a useful product for people to use.
