Corruption on Earth is the norm no matter what the government style. Our 2050 Martian colony will embody the best of historical government styling from Earth. To avoid government corruption in our colony, I will establish a royal president, the king or queen, and an elected parliament to bring fairness plus tradition, flare, and personality to the government. The best of socialism will be maintained through a strongly regulated and funded health care, education, and public service programs. Because I value each citizen's constitutional values, I plan to create laws to advocate for freedoms of speech, press, and expression as the best of the democratic government style. I believe that we can create and operate a colony on Mars that practices …show more content…

The king or queen will not just be a pretty face that is in office to look good and give the people a countenance for the government like they are in the UK. For example, Queen Elizabeth II dresses in elegant and elaborate costumes and looks stern, and waves to her people, but she does not have any true power as the queen at this time. In this colony, the king or queen will be able to write, veto, remove, or pass all laws for the colony. The king or queen will have to work alongside the colony’s parliament to ensure that there is no “God complex” for the king or queen elected. Instead of having a house and senate in the legislative branch, and the supreme court in the judicial branch, like in American government there will just be parliament, and it will play the role of both the legislative and judicial branch. Parliament will argue over the laws that the people come up with and send that bill to the king or queen for them to sign or veto. Parliament will be the supreme court, for important cases, as well as a regular court for minor cases. The people of parliament will also have requirements to have a seat. There will be 1,457 seats in Parliament, all representatives for the Mars colony. The people running will have to have at least a minimum three years of political experience, take a few speech and debate classes, and be the age of 25 or older. People of parliament will be elected into office by giving a speech on why they should have a seat there. They can only have that seat for three terms, six years. Every two years, they can renew their term by giving another persuasive speech that convinces the public, or resigns.
I appreciate how Britain has worked over the last 500 hundred years, with the tradition of monarchy where a royal figure has ruled with an effective democratic slant. My system of voting out the king or queen is to avoid upheavals, and dethroning of the king or queen. Overthrowing causes war, and chaos like it has in the past. By voting the king or queen
