You can get many more educational opportunities here in Alaska than in any other state. RAHI is one of those many opportunities, and it is something that will allow me to gain a whole lot of experience without spending a whole lot of money. There are many similar programs that I would like to attend, but many of them are extremely costly, most of them costing even more than the actual airfare to go to the location of the program. On top of that, I would have to pay for food and other necessities, so my chances of ever attending such things are extremely slim. Since mostly everything in RAHI is free, I can breathe easily knowing that I won’t have to worry about not having money or causing a major financial drain on my parents. It would be a unique, amazing, and wonderful opportunity if I were to attend it. Many of my friends are applying to attend RAHI, which is not the primary reason why I am attending, but it does make my lonely summer much less lonely. Attending RAHI will also give me the opportunity to make new friends, while still being around my current friends. I often make new friends best when I am around my current ones, which is something that I also worry about college, but in RAHI I can develop new social skills in order to make new friends while doing it in a very comfortable and familiar environment. With the new social skills I will develop, it will be easier to find friends who will better motivate me to do well in college, since RAHI will have other students are just as motivated in school as me, and for me to support and motivate them as well. True friends help each other out and motivate each other, and going to RAHI will allow me to find friends that will do
The school is huge and being a college prep school it is also selective in the students who get enrolled. The focus is on teaching and learning. The school seems predominately white with a few students of color.

I have been tirelessly searching for the best university for me for a while now. One with superb facilities, and a beautiful campus. One that offers me top education, a conducive environment for learning, and a memorable experience. A university that helps me develop both spiritually and intellectually. A university that allows me to find myself, not just in the classroom, but also outside the classroom.
In addition to its location, this school appeals to me in its own right. Although I was aware of Lewis and Clark Law
There he stands atop the stairs of the Lincoln Memorial, in the nations’ capital, at a podium, speaking to the world. The crowds faces full of hope. Ears opened wide and clear, for the Dr. is speaking today. He is speaking from the heart and telling the nation that he has a “DREAM.” Dr. King had a dream and as most people think that it is geared towards blacks and whites, it’s not. Dr. King wanted equality between everybody. He wanted freedom from racism and prejudice throughout the nation. He was very good in getting the emotional perspective of persuasion across to his audience. King was a very inspirational man; his words were so true and full of meaning. He spoke to everyone and got everybody involved. This is why people followed him and why I think this is the most persuasive piece we have read. He not only implies his wants but he carries along with him the wants and needs of every man or woman ever treated poorly because of the color of their skin or their beliefs. There is a certain unexplainable meaning and feeling when a man like King steps up in front of the world and says, “I have a Dream.”
In conclusion, I was fortunate enough to understand many important things in life. One of those things is that we do not always begin at the desired start line, but through effort and strong will we can arrive at the desired finish line, where the outcome of our plans and goals reside. In my pursuit of education, I faced many challenges and hardships, but I always viewed them as temporary setbacks not as a finish line. I am certain that an opportunity to study at the UW would help me reach my finish line.
I would like to attend UTK because I heard that it is a great school. The student –faculty ratio is 17:1, and the school has 27.9 percent of its classes with fewer than 20 students. Most of their classes are 20-49 students, that’s the perfect size for me. The Vol Nation really cares about the success of their students and the quality of their education. They offer classes all day at any time and they also have summer courses. That’s a good thing because I’m an early riser and I could take my classes earlier in the day and have time to get all my work done. Since they offer classes during the summer I could take more
Many studies have shown that adolescents residing in low income or high crime neighborhoods are more likely to get involved with deviant behavior or committing criminal acts. (Deutsch, 2012) There are several neighborhood factors that affect the crime rates of the neighborhood such as overcrowding, low economic status, the neighborhood’s reputation and its residential instability. These may create a disorganized community, leading to distrust and cynicism among residents in the community. As a result, there would be a higher rate of opportunities for crimes and delinquency. (Kurlychek, 2011) Thus high rates of crimes and violence are more likely to occur at these areas.
The type of education portrayed by the university is influenced by the international community. It gives students the chance to be inspired by different opportunities, like internships and clubs, to enhance the specialization of their degree of study. This makes the student more goal-orientated towards an education that will make them valuable and versatile for whatever job market they walk in to. As stated by the mission statement, this college will strive to, “Pursue opportunities to enhance personal wellness through artistic, athletic, or recreational activities,” and to “develop an infrastructure that makes learning accessible to those on campus and in our community and supports the scholarly activities of the faculty.”
In the United States, it is estimated that approximately 650,000 inmates are released from prisons each year and will return to their communities. Out of the 650,000 persons, an estimated three quarters of them have a history of substance abuse (Office of Justice Programs, 2004). To put specific figures to the above numbers, it is estimated that approximately 95% of all inmates will be eventually released from prison. Of the 95% that will be released, about 80% will be placed on some form of community supervision (Hughes et al., 2004). This group returns to the community looking for housing, employment, medical care and treatment, but often they are unable to get the assistance needed. The lack of pre-release planning and an overall lack of coordination between the various systems, often result in repeat offending and ultimately recidivism.
I will definitely enjoy the independence of campus life. The camaraderie, which will develop, should only add to the college experience. The courses will be challenging but I am willing to do what it takes to achieve my ultimate goal, which was alluded to earlier. The untapped potential is there. I would like to be given the opportunity to show what I can accomplish.
Ainu is spoken in the far northern islands of Japan in Hokkaidô. This is an island about 83,530 square feet, which is about one fifth the size of Japan. It is surrounded by coasts and has mountains, lakes, and rivers. Speakers of Ainu live on southern Sakhalin. Earlier, but they used to live in Kuril Islands and Kamchatka. They even lived in the northeast region of Honshű. Ainu is believed to have origins in Siberia and the southern Pacific (Gall & Hobby, 2009). This non-Japanese language means “human” or people (Leeming 2010). There are currently around 1,200 to 2,400 speakers of Ainu that are residing in Hokkaidô. (Leeming 2010). According to Gall and Hobby, Ainu belongs to a Paleo-Asiatic or a Paleo-Siberian community of languages. It consists of two dialects called Hokkaidô and Sakhalin, which are subdivided into other minor dialects (Gall & Hobby, 2009).

“Our workforce and our entire economy are strongest when we embrace diversity to its fullest, and that means opening doors of opportunity to everyone and recognizing that the American Dream excludes no one” Thomas Perez, the United States Secretary of Labor, once stated. Although that may be true, that’s not what it is like in America. “Today, the United States has less equality of opportunity than almost any other advanced industrial country” (New York Times). Everyone has experienced some sort of inadequate opportunity in their lives, whether it is something as small as not winning concert tickets over the radio, to something as big as not getting a job because of the color of your skin, your gender, or your overall appearance.
When juvenile are being sentenced life in prison for committing murder has always been an issue in many court cases. Some believe that they don 't deserve a second chance and that they should be sentenced life in prison but others do believe in second chances. There are many reasons to why juveniles should be given a second chance in life when they commit a crime such as murder. For example, the brain of these juveniles is not fully developed, the environment can influence them to do such crimes and there 's still ways for them to change and turn their life around.
