Have you ever visited or heard of a landmark called Providence Canyon? Providence Canyon is located in Southwest Georgia's Coastal Plains near Alabama. This land area is also known as "The Little Grand Canyon." Providence canyon has a wide variety of wildlife, educational opportunities, and tourism. Some people want to turn the canyon into a national park, although that is not a very good idea. They neared Dry Creek Station and saw that there were no Indians in sight, but when they got to the station they found the station keeper scalped and mutilated, this man’s name was Ralph Rosier. What had actually happened is that Indians came into the station and shot two men. One of the men shot was named Applegate, who was already suffering from being shot, one of the Indians gave him a bullet and they let him decide his fate. He chose to shoot himself in the head rather than try and shoot the Indian in front of him.

The towering, craggy mountains; vast, spectacular forests; massive, grassy plains; and numerous lakes, rivers, and streams, many of which are very sparsely populated, are magnificent to behold. All these pleasurable aspects of Montana are direct results of its generally rural environment and would not be possible without this characteristic. It is evident that those who love Montana are most likely in love with its rural setting.

This further splits the park into three distinct zones. “Island in the Sky” sits to the north while “The Maze” sits off to the west and “The Needles” to the east (Canyonlands National Park Information Guide). “Island in the Sky” serves as Canyonlands’ observation tower; it allows tourists to see overwhelming vistas of the rest of the land. “The Maze,” as hinted at by the name has been described as a “30 square mile puzzle in sandstone” (NPS: Nature & Science» Geology Resources Division). This section of the park often ranks as one of the most remote and inaccessible areas of the United States. Lastly, “The Needles” is known for its diversity in rock features. Throughout this land, features such as sculptured rock spires, arches, canyons, grabens, and potholes can be seen. The varying names hint at the diversity of the land as a whole.
