Do you ever have sympathy for prostitute? No, right? You think they have the right to do whatever with their life and it has nothing to do with you. Now, I want you to picture a young girl, she has no friends at school, her family rejects and never pays attention to her, and no boys ever approach her. Now imagine an older guy starts talking to her, giving her all the attention she needs, and buying her expensive gifts. Then, one thing lead to another. He wants to sleep with her because he said he loves her. It’s her choice and no harm is done right? Then, he wants her to sleep with his friends. She’s now realizes something isn’t right. First, prevent trafficking by have knowledge about what human trafficking is. The more you know about it, the better prepared you are and to recognize the signs. Educate yourself about human trafficking. Read books, news, articles. Second is protection, protect yourself and others from becoming human trafficking victims by be aware of your surroundings, always carry pepper spray with you, and if you sense you are being followed, call 911 immediately.These solutions seem to sound like they would work, but the question is where would the government start to find the victims and the traffickers? And when would the process begin? The Act was created in 2000 but human trafficking is still exists. Women and children are dying and being raped and beaten everyday so just because the government pushes out an act doesn’t mean that the problem will go away.
However, I did some research and found an organization called Polaris that has been making a movement on the subject of human trafficking since 2002.
