A man named Muhammad was born 570 AD. Muhammad was an ordinary person with a purpose in the world. Through his beliefs and way of life, he was visited and chosen to become a prophet and preach the words of Allah (The One God). By the end of this research paper, I want you to have a clear understanding of this misunderstood religion.

Muhammad is the founder and the chief prophet of Islam. Born 570 AD in Mecca. Abdullah ibn Abdul-Muttalib (father) passed before his birth and Aminah (mother) at the age of six. Muhammad had no other option than to be raised by his paternal Uncle, Abu Talib. At a very young age, some say 9 or age 12 he worked as a merchant. This was the place that Muhammad was visited by an angel named Gabriel. Deep in a trance-like meditation, like Moses, Muhammad was a reluctant prophet. Gabriel said the words, "Proclaim!" Muhammad resisted and eventually the angel overpowered him and took control and commanded this:

Proclaim in the name of your Lord who created! Created man from a clot of blood. Proclaim: Your Lord is the Most Generous, Who teaches by the pen; Teaches man what he knew not. (Qur'an 96:1-3).
