I have chosen to research the prohibition party. Their logo consists of a camel, it is divided horizontally, the top half is blue with five white stars and the bottom half is red. The white stars are right above the horizontal white line dividing the blue half and the red half. The Prohibition party was founded in 1869 and is the oldest third party in the US. For 137 years this party was trying to ban the production and sale of alcohol in the US. In 1919, the 18th amendment, banning the manufacture, sale, or transportation of alcohol was ratified and added to the U.S. Constitution. Anyone can spend a couple dollars on a lottery ticket and it’s your choice to buy one or not. The lottery and gambling is your choice to do or not, people do it for fun and that is their choice. I chose the prohibition party because two amendments were added to our constitution because of prohibition and i wanted to research more into the prohibition party to better educate myself. I do not think the United States should welcome third parties into the political system because like the prohibition party most third parties only focus and pride themselves on one thing.
