William C.Morey’s history text outlines of Roman History show how Octavius and Antony rise and fall to power after the death of Julius Caesar’s death. There were various power struggles in Rome that created chaos not only in rome but in the rest of the world. The power struggle began when Antony had the crowd’s full attention after Brutus told the noble roman people that Caesar was a tyrant.He Obtained Caesar’s will and told the roman people caesar left everything to them but he then took over Caesar’s money. He used the money for his own use and didn’t give the people their share. Antony speaks at Caesar’s funeral and explain to the people that need to get revenge basically on the people who killed caesar. He appeals to the Roman people by telling them what they want to hear. “liberators” flee the city because they knew sooner or later people was going to find out they killed their leader.Antony thought because Senators were gone he can take over. Since antony thought he would take over the will now that Caesar is gone. Antony claims that the money was Rome’s money and spent it on Roman interests but that was a lie he used it for his own use.
