Music in the 1950’s was a lot different than it is now. The things I will be showing you are the Political events, what was popular, and the influence 1950’s music had on this decade The Korean war lasted about fifteen years and affected the way music was written and taken. Some popular songs during this time were “God Please Protect America” by Jimmie Osborne, “Saying goodbye” by Wilif Carter, and “They Just Fade Away” by Jimmy Short. These songs helped influenced how important it was to help protect America. Not later after these songs president Truman orders construction of the hydrogen bomb. He wanted fifty atomic bombs to lie along the Yalu River. Truman was later fired which was supported by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
