There are many aid projects across the world who claim to help millions of people, but because these aid projects claim to help millions of people, that does not always mean that is the case There are many different aid types, and there can be aid for almost anything an area needs help with. One aid project that not many people know about is called the Polaris Project. After being exposed to a story of six South Korean women being forced to work in a brothel, Katherine Chon and Derek Ellerman were inspired to do something about modern-day slavery (“Katherine Chon and Derek Ellerman: Fighting Human Trafficking" 3). Fast-forward 13 years and the Polaris Project is the world’s leading non-profit human trafficking aid organization in the country. The Polaris Project is the only aid organization to fight against all forms of human trafficking. Human trafficking occurs when a person is forced against his or her own will to engage in sexual acts. Human trafficking can happen to men, women and children; however, it mainly happens to women 18 years and older (“Sex Trafficking in the U.S.” 1). However, a deeper look needs to be taken into this organization to observe if Polaris Project is working effectively at what the organization claims to do.

One day this group of long borders had stopped in front of me at a stop sign where I was crossing at, and I was a very shy kid but I asked them if I could join them. Yellowstone is known for many things from the huge volcano that lay’s beneath to their geysers that explode as quick as every ninety minutes. Yellowstone is in not only one state, but three! It’s so large that it is in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Yellowstone has many scenic features and a lot of history from the 500 geysers, hundreds of waterfalls some even undiscovered, hot springs, fossils, and one huge volcano. There are a lot of things to discuss when it comes to this historic national park which is why I will only be focusing on Wyoming, which is where most of Yellowstone is.

Parks & Wreck is an outreach event hosted by the five Christian fraternities and sororities of Texas Tech University. The event was held on May 6th, 2016 in order to reach out and encourage students before finals started. Parks & Wreck featured free food including hot dogs, chips, bottled water, warm cookies, and Bahama Bucks snow cones. The event lasted from 5 pm to 9 pm with a DJ playing music the whole time. Attendees recieved free Finals Survival bags, which included pencils, scantrons, candy, and encouraging notes. The event also featured two guest speakers from Hillside Church who shared the Gospel and their testimonies. Parks & Wreck also had a total of twelve door prizes and two large inflatables.
