The path I have taken on my journey to pharmacy has not always been clear, it has been riddled with struggles and failures. I hold these failures very closely as they have become a daily reminder that with enough hard work and dedication, one can proceed with true conviction in their actions and find success. Pharmacy has not always been the ultimate goal of mine, but ever since I was young, I always wanted to do my best to help those who did not have the means of helping themselves. Together with my fascination and respect for the sciences, a once clouded path has become clear. Pharmacy school is the next big step I need to take in the direction that will allow me to accomplish my professional goals. To reiterate, pharmacy was never a lifelong goal of mine from the start, but I knew that helping others would be key to fulfilling my goals. This started from a young age as I was the first person in my household to become fluent in English and attend school in America. My parents worked long and hard hours to give me the opportunities I needed to grow into the best person I could be. I have pharmaceutical research as a major goal of mine due to my interest in infectious disease, antibiotics, and the growing resistances to antibiotics worldwide, but pharmacy is an intricate network comprised of so many paths and I want to be acquainted with all of them. While in pharmacy school, I plan to take advantage of all research opportunities while supplementing my education with rotations in a clinical setting as well as devoting time to retail.
