I set sail across the world, firstly headed East, across the pond to become a temporary subject of the Queen of England. I conquered London, a great megametropolis, when it became my multicultural home. My compass then pointed me West, towards the Land Down Under where I found my bearings in the Australian lifestyle. I learned to maintain a work-life balance. Sporting steel-toed boots and a hardhat, I explored the coal mines of the Outback; sporting a regulator and fins, I explored the Great Barrier Reef. My internal compass has always pointed me in the right direction and I know what an honor it would be to be given the opportunity to embark on a career as a pharmacist. From a young age, I was a scientist. Magnifying glass in hand I would observe ants marching methodologically in line. As the oldest child I would always hold the coveted position of doctor while my sisters and cousins squirmed during my examinations. I would then take on my role as pharmacist by handing out candy, pinks for pain and whites for stomach aches. I was drawn to becoming a scientist and graduated with degree in biology having spent hundreds of hours observing drosophila, studying the intricacies of cell mechanisms, and memorizing OILRIG. Since graduating in 2006, I have gone on to maintain a sincere and keen interest in the rapidly developing world of pharmacy and I have found my true north in pharmacy. …show more content…

The analytical skills and knowledge generated from my Biology degree, as well as my work experience have given me a well-rounded education and make me a promising candidate for pharmacy school. Additionally, I have maintained a job since age 16, which has provided me with time management skills, self-discipline and the strong work ethic required to succeed in a rigorous professional
