Superheroes are fictional characters that use their powers to keep people safe. They become heroes and with that, they gain great popularity. Peter Parker who then becomes "Spiderman" is a superhero that has gained his popularity by being unique. Spiderman is one the most popular superheroes today because he is a normal teen, didn't want fame, and changed the way teenagers were portrayed in comics.

Peter Parker was a young teenager who was orphaned when he was young. He lived with his Uncle Ben and Aunt May. He was considered an outcast and nerd in high school. One day he took a field trip to a lab and was bitten by a radioactive spider that gave him powers. His powers were clear vision, being able to cling to surfaces and crawl on walls, and shoot webs from his wrist.

Spiderman is a popular superhero because he is a normal everyday teenager. He had his Aunt May always nagging him and he also had to deal with problems in school. He was bullied by jocks in school and was never able to confess his love for Mary Jane . Because of this, people especially younger teens can identify themselves with his character. The thief was the same person who later killed Peter's Uncle Ben in a breaking and entering crime. Because of this, he devotes his life and his powers to the fight for justice. He does not have an alter ego or was a billionaire like some superheroes. He never asked to have these powers and because of this he hid the fact that he was able to do things no ordinary person was able to . This shows us that Peter didn't use his powers for fame . He instead was secretly saving and keeping people safe. Which is why he became such a popular superhero
