More than half of people who believe in love at first sight have already experienced it. Imagine a group of 100 people, at least 50 of those people believe and have experienced love at first sight which must mean that it really is possible. Yes, true love in possible. True Love is possible because of the scientific facts and the fact that it is more than just a feeling, as learned in Romeo and Juliet but on the other hand, many argue that true love is not possible because the frontal lobe is not developed all the way in the teen brain. To begin, true love is possible because of the scientific facts. In an article by Faith Xue, she states that twelve areas of the brain work together to release chemicals and hormones that induce the feeling …show more content…
First, the lack of sleep teens receive affects their mood and the brains functions. Teen's frontal lobes are not fully connected which causes them to access it more slowly (Knox 1). Also, they are going to be unable to make thorough decisions. This is because the nerve cells that connect teenagers' frontal lobes with the rest of their brain are sluggish. Additionally, teens do not have as much myelin as adults do. "Spotty or thin myelin leads to inefficient communication between one part of the brain and another...the part that governs judgment is the last to be fully connected" (Knox 2). In other words, the part that controls the way one sees things and makes decisions is not fully developed in a teen making them not be able to judge if they are really "in love". In the end, many people believe love at first sight is not possible because the brain is …show more content…
True Love is possible because of the scientific facts and the fact that it is more than just a feeling, as learned in Romeo and Juliet but on the other hand, many argue that true love is not possible because the frontal lobe is not developed all the way in the teen brain. Although, many people believe true love is possible, many do not. Unfortunately, with as many people that there are in this world, some people may never experience love at first sight. Many relationships will also say that it is possible. Knowing that true love is possible may increase the chances of a person meeting their
The notion behind loving someone is simply a very complicated and esoteric in nature. People often describe a certain chemistry, as in a certain attraction, needed between two individuals who are in love but Barbara Fredrickson is able to coordinate the definition of love on the basis of chemicals. Barbara Fredrickson is able to provide the definition of love on the deductive reasoning based on chemistry, biology, and neurology explained in Love 2.0: How our Supreme Emotion Affects Everything we Feel, Think, Do, and Become. As Barbara explains "With each micro-moment of love, then, you climb another rung on the spiraling ladder that lifts you up to your higher ground, to richer and more compassionate social relationships, to greater resilience
True love is like a precious black pearl, it is so rare that many believe it to be a myth, but Hermia and Lysander found true love according to the following excerpt said by Lysander from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Love is one of life's great mysteries. People live and build their lives around love. For many people, love, or the quest to find love, is a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Love is arguably the most overwhelming of all emotions. Many ideals and religions consider the bond of love sacred. But, why do people fall in love? Is romantic love an enigma, or can it be reduced to the presence of certain chemicals and neurotransmitters within the brain at a given time?
Paragraph one intro-What is the origin of this universal feeling known as love? It all starts with the history of love. There really is no marked beginning of this feeling that has no evidence of its existence. It could have begun scientifically with Neanderthals, or even religiously with Adam and Eve-the theories and stories are endless. Some psychiatrists claim it begins with the Oedipal suppression, where the son feels a form of love for their mother just as their daughter would feel the same for their father. As they mature and meet a potential mate who shows similar characteristics to their parents, passionate love forms between them. There is no specific answer as to why any one person falls for a particular type of person, only theories, and approaches. In this essay, we will look at all aspects of love and just what it does to the brain as well as what parts it deactivates, the things you go
Love at initial sight is a broadly debated belief. Some believe that true love that only has physical attraction without a deeper understanding of an individual doesn’t exist. Although, others argue that someone may be able to identify true love instantly. In fact, Shakespeare dedicates part of his play to this matter. In addition, he refers to Romeo and Juliet as "star-crossed lovers". To put it in another way, the two lovers are dissatisfied by fate from the very beginning. They may not have fallen in love like normal young people, but they still truly love one another.
Love and infatuation are both strong emotions that most will encounter within their lifetime. The two feelings are often misunderstood, but are differentiated through their outcomes and stability. True love does not only rely on physical attraction, but also on one’s personality. When one is truly in love, they accept their partner’s flaws and perfections. There is a connection between two people, in which they can make compromises and smart decisions. The love grows stronger with time and is not instant. On the other hand, infatuation occurs almost instantaneously and progresses quickly. Infatuation relies on lust and physical attraction. It can cause an individual to
True love or love in general is essential for human life. Since birth, babies are loved and nurtured by their mothers and fathers; completely vulnerable to the world, yet protected by the very people who created them. A parent's bond and love with their child is nothing that can be described unless you have a child of your own. I will only know the true magnitude of this kind of compassion and devotion to someone when I have a child of my own. Romance has always been apart of human culture; From Ancient Roman plays to Shakespeare to today with Nicholas Sparks’ the Notebook and other popular books he has wrote; But today with so much media with books and music and movies many people find themselves unsure of what true love actually is, and what it means to devote yourself to someone for a long term relationship instead of “dating” someone for 3 weeks and breaking up because the other person spilt chilli all over your favorite christmas sweater.
Have we not all fall in love once before? A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Williams Shakespeare is one of the most interesting plays I have ever read. Although, I have seen many people fall in love before, this play has such an unrealistic and beautiful way to describe love that I think everybody would want to find love. I enjoyed my time reading this play not only because it’s a comedy play, but also because it includes many life ordinary events that can happen to anybody such as two people falling for the same person. Furthermore, this play also introduce to us some unrealistic book tale such as the use of magic. Also, I like comedy plays because they make me forget about my life problems for a moment and I usually
There is perhaps no correct answers to the phenomena of love. It exists in many strata. It is
Is love an emotion we feel naturally, or is it something that needs to be learned? Is the idea of loving someone a journey in which you grow together, or is there really such a thing as ‘love at first sight’? Vivek Shraya’s narrative She of the mountains and bells hooks’ perspective novel all about love dive into the ideas and definitions of love. Shraya’s novel She of the mountains explores how love is something we learn through experience, how our definition of love can be moulded and changed through those experiences, and how they are correlated to our individual identity and self-love. hooks’ all about love blames society for our reasoning why love fails and how we fail to have a sense of individual identity because of the idea of love
is simply unrealistic. The word “love” can be used to describe relationships where there is a
Over time the definition of love and what it is has been debated and argued over, but in most cases the answer is very similar. "True love is like two rivers that meet and merge, intertwining completely into one, then flowing on together. True love cannot be buried; but once unselfishly rooted it will grow forever." Quote on quote true love does exist but unfortunately is not found by all.
Real love is a mystery to most people. Most people never realize the true potential or value of love, nor do they learn to practice the art of love. It is usually very poorly defined. People think they are in love, but they can’t explain it. There is a great deal of confusion and cross-referencing of the terms LOVE, ROMANCE, INFATUATION, AFFECTION, TENDERNESS and so forth.
Does True Love Exist? “I love you.” These three little words might possibly be the most powerful statement one can make to another person. In life, most yearn for the intimate affection that a certain someone can provide them. Women dream of their Prince Charming to come and sweep them off their feet, while men search for the love of their life that sets their hearts on fire.
...r in unimaginable ways, causing some to fight for it, and others to fight against it. Though love is strong, many forces seek to sever the bonds of intimacy and romance. Even when relationships end in painful tears, the love often endures. True love is an eternal and lasting feeling which defies time and circumstance, enduring to the end of all things.
