One Size “Fits” All
School is monotonous. School is dull. School has become standardized. I’ve been through America’s education system for 14 years now. On a daily, I approach my classes to only find myself sitting in a desk, “listening” to a teacher’s lecture, while taking notes--the same process in every single class, 5 days a week, 8 hours a day. I’ve gone through years of lessons on math, language arts, history, and science, while I have gone through years of excessive standardized tests, which I personally found to provide little benefits. So far in those 14 years, I’ve been confined to a “one size fits all” education.

Standardized Test
Students are sat down and are given a test. Test such as the SAT or ACT are given to every junior class across the nation. They are tested on the exact same material by using a scantron and a #2 pencil. They’re all told an average score they’re expected to get. Students are held to the same standards and are expected to do well no matter what.
Teachers feel compelled to coordinate their lessons to the test. This limits the curriculum, as they look towards to teach content that is imperative for all students to learn. He would never talk in class, nor did he really did any class work. It seem like he didn’t know anything because he never did anything. Although to everyone’s surprise, he was insanely smart. He was aural learner. He may didn’t physically do the work to learn, but he listened. He listened his way through all the lessons, to which teachers figured out, and used his learning style to his benefit. He wasn’t passing his classes because the standard curriculum didn’t fit him.
