Recommended: Should driving ages be raised

Many people feel that the driving age is already low being at 16 years old. Some feel that the driving age isn’t low enough. How are you supposed to teach teens maturity if you aren't gonna let them get their driver's licence or manage themselves and their money? By lowering the driving age you can teach teens more responsibility, you're allowing the entire country to be fair, parents to have less stress, and the government would get more money. Therefore the driving age should be lowered to 14.

Teaching teens responsibility is a huge part of growing up and making the transition between a teen and a young adult. By letting your teen get his/her own driver's licence you are teaching them responsibility and how to manage their self. Telling them that they have to manage their own money so they can make payments, pay for broken parts, pay for insurance, and pay for their own gas. Is two years really gonna change someone? Most likely no, if your mature at 14 you should be able to get your licence because you're as mature as a 16 year old. If a 14 year old is getting straight A’s they are smart enough to make good choices for themselves and others that might possibly be on the road driving at the same time they are. Also if teens act like adults they should be treated like adults, if an adult acts like a child then they should be treated like a child, it's all in the way you act and the maturity you have and show.

All in all lowering the driving age is the best thing our country can do to make teenagers and parents life easier, even just doing simple day to day tasks will be much easier if your teen had a driver's licence. By letting your teen get their licence you are helping yourself and them at the same time because they can now run your errands for you and you spend less time worrying about who is gonna get your kid here or
