Since the beginning, humans have looked to the stars with wonder and fascination. A mysterious void where one can only begin to grasp the infinite and untold secrets of existence and reason. Space. The final secret in a world where knowledge is coveted, craved after, where knowing is power. Designing machines that can soar above the cosmos or skip thousands of years in time, is all leading to what? Why as humans are we so enthralled with the idea of Space exploration? Why did 600 million people watch Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon in 1969? The evolution of our plant is constantly in motion. As we know, the future of humankind lies in space. Colonization of faraway planets and moons may seem unrealistic to today’s standards, however, the need for new host habitats is an ever growing issue. Space colonization will change the way humans live and communicate. With mankind away from earth, new customs, traditions, emotions and perspectives will shape the persona of every human, unintentionally creating a new society and way of life in the process. Space exploration and travel has been explored in countless books, movies and television shows. These creations give us a glimpse into what life might be like in a future of galaxies and space ships. The novel Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff tells the story of two teenagers who escape their home planet after a deadly attack and must try and outrun the the culprit to alert the rest of space. The fictional novel goes into detail about the conditions of interplanetary colonization and how humans manage to survive.
