Humans think pure innocently, until thoughts are put into their minds to think any differently of people. People are influenced by what their peers say negatively, whether it be friends at school or how their parents have raised them. People aren’t born racist. One approach is to have harsher punishment to those who discriminate against another race. No matter which skin tone, a human is a human. There is no need for degrading another individual based on their skin tone. Whichever race one is, if they show respect and politeness they will get that in return. The vast majority of the United States population can make this happen. Avoid racism to the best ability one simply can. If seen happening, one needs to put a stop to it and stick up for whichever race is being discriminated against. As the US Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” (www.ushistory.org). Each human has gone through hard times, as each human has gone through good times. As the quote goes, “A smile is the same in every language.” Parents and peers need to stop putting discriminating thoughts into young children’s heads. Upbringing is known to be one of the largest causes of racism. If one isn’t raised to be racist, racial discrimination will slowly come to a stop as past generations die off. If American people create a much more positive atmosphere, instead of degrading others and teaching others that way, the US population can start growing together as one
