Although animal experimentation seems cruel, it serves many purposes. It’s been around for so many centuries, many ways that it’s taking ways. So it’s always been a part of us which just improves us. Animal experimentation is very beneficial to the human race, for it has helped us find new ways to get rid of diseases, it has given us access to medicines that could not have been obtained without the help of animal experimentation and continues to benefit us in finding much more about ourselves. The history of animal testing goes as far as the 4th and 3rd centuries BCE, with Aristotle and Erasistratus from Ancient Greek which was mostly based of writings. Now around the 17th Century, William Harvey experimented with animals in the hope of understanding and demonstrating blood circulation. Three main types of animal experimentation are fundamental research, Genetically modifying animals and testing for regulations. Fundamental research is mostly based of curiosity. It is mostly designed to answer scientific questions that scientist believe will be beneficial medically in the future and no new medicines are being testing for humans or animals. 46% accounts for the total experiments in Europe, but the chances of finding something new is very slim, 5%. What people do not know about is that animals are protected by “The Three R’s”, which are a guiding principle. The first one is “Replace” which is a scientific method used as non-sentient material to replace methods where the use of conscious living vertebrates. Some replacement strategies include tissue culture, perfused organs, tissue slices, cellular slices, cellular fractions and subcellular fractions. Second known R is “Reduction”, which is also a method that lessens the use of animals per experiment
Is animal testing really worth taking away animal’s valuable lives? No, I think it’s wrong, inhumane, and cruel. Animals have feelings like humans do and they should be treated with respect even though they are just animals.When animals are tested over time they live in cruel and harsh conditions. They are tied up and changed to their cages or devices they are being tested on. Almost all tests fail in humans and it is not worth sacrificing an animals life.Think about all the things animals have to go through all the harsh and cruel treatment.They are put in conditions where they are not allowed to eat or drink and move around. Is it really worth killing an animals for eyeliner that will never hit the market or for drugs that all fail in humans. So here are some of the reasons I think we should ban all animal testing.
Animal experimentation has always been a highly debated topic. Many have argued for the use of animal experimentation claiming that animal experimentation is the only possible way to find medical treatments to preserve human life. However, animal rights activists have argued that animal experimentation is futile and that it is unethical to use the life of an animal for experimentation without the animal’s consent. Putting aside the countless claims that animal experimentation is unethical and should be banned, it is incredibly necessary and useful for mankind. Experimenting on humans is inhumane and completely immoral, while animals that do not function in the same way humans do should be used in medical research and to test the safety of various products. If animal testing were illegal, how would worldly corporations determine the safety of products? Surely the valuable lives of human beings are not essential to risk, hence the reason that animal experimenting is necessary. In addition, medical research would be in great jeopardy if were animals were not permitted to be experimented on. Medical industries have already come so far in treating multiple ailments due to the tests performed on animals. Alas, it is safe to say that for the continued thriving of our society, forbidding animal experimentation would be detrimental.

Every year, millions of animals are injured or killed in scientific experiments across the world. Those in favor of animal experimentation say they’re taking animals’ lives to save humans. But is it really necessary to subject animals to torturous conditions or painful experiments in the name of science? Is it ethical to destroy an animal’s life while simply testing lipstick or shampoo? Animal experimentation, like many of the issues we face today, is difficult to argue against, and just as hard to support, but it is necessary to continue this experimentation in order to advance human knowledge and to help save human lives.

Animal rights is the idea that animals should not have to suffer and be able to be in possession of their life. These experiments range from cosmetic testing to medical research, sadly neither of these tests are needed. Many people will accept animal research because they believe that these animals aren’t suffering (“Harm and Suffering”) or they believe that animal testing in beneficial to humans. In reality, these animals suffer for mankind, when the need does not exist. Animal testing creates unnecessary pain and suffering for animals, when in reality most experiments will not benefit human health.

Although not as strictly addressed, there is still a schism when it comes to the matters of experimentation involving animals. Those in opposition of it see it as being against the will of the animal, because animals have no say in the matter. However, through animal experimentation there has been vast medical advances in hospitals and veterinarians , research has led to cures for various diseases that would normally take many more years to cure, and the use of animals is highly ethical considering what could be the alternative, although there is progress being made to change these measures. Meaning that animals have the same body components and features as humans and is the best thing to research on to better understand the human development. Even though several argue that animal testing is harming the animals, one has to think back to all the benefits that has come from it. There may be a little remorse for endangering animal lives, but realizing how far medicine has come makes it worth the while.
