How Difficult Is It to Raise a Pit-bull?
Yes, you may have heard that pit-bulls are mean. But that’s not true. It’s all on how they grow up and type of place. If you give them a lot of attention and treat them right they will be the most loving animal possible. It’s just like any other dog out there. What about a German shepherd the are police dogs and guard dogs but not all of them are mean? What makes the difference with pits? They are born harmless because they don’t know better. They are some most abused dogs out there. And yet are some the most forgiving dogs on the planet. Most of them grow up on a chain in a dogfighters yard. Their adolescence is lost in a shelter where they were able to survive. Pits are so magnificent they love

A dog won’t be mean unless you treat it that way. And if you do why would you turn such an innocent puppy into a cruel dog? Why not just ban all dogs? That would be stupid because we use dogs as protection, companions, and stress reliever. A ban on pit bulls is a Band-Aid for the root of the problem — lack of education. What are we going to do with bad dog owners? Springfield has a voluntary place to learn about the dogs. It’s not the dogs fault you don’t have an education in dogs or try to learn about them. They dong have a pit-bull problem they have a bite problem. Maybe only a handful of the people who had spoken at the pit-bull ban agreed with it the rest was against. If they didn’t stop disrupting the court the judge would have ended the session, but look at the first amendment

Are these dogs misunderstood? In reality a dog is a reflection of its human, they see you as a pack leader they are who you raise them to be no matter the breed. If you neglect your puppy by chaining them up outside their whole life or keep them in
Most of the dogs on this list are common household pets, like the Labrador retriever, and are normally non-aggressive and very friendly. Many times these dogs show no sign of aggression and pose no threat to society. Perspective One Breed-specific laws were put in place with the expectation to help prevent dog bites and attacks. The State and Federal government both came to the conclusion that this is a positive way to promote safety from dog attacks. “Both state and federal courts consistently uphold the constitutionality of breed-specific pit bull laws.... ...
Pit Bulls are without a doubt my favorite dog, I adore them. Pit Bulls are very well tempered, loyal, and resilient animals. Bred for big game hunting, Pit Bulls are strong, fierce animals and people who have the wrong intentions for ownership should never own them. I am a strong believer that a potential pet owner should do lots of research before getting any type of animal, without exception. Owners should do as much research before getting a dog as they do in planning for a new home or any other new family member. One of the main things to really think about and understand is your intentions for your selection of an animal with the breeding of the Pit Bull. If you choose a dog with the wrong intentions, specifically a Pit Bull, you will get a dog that behaves aggressively and is dangerous. This owner behavior is what has caused the current plight of the Pit Bull today, where laws have been passed in thirteen states and hundreds of municipalities, as well as every U. S. Military base, banning the ownership of the breed and forcing shelters to euphonize Pit Bulls within 24 hours. These laws are unjust and cruel, and victimize the breed based on the owners’ behavior. I also argue that the blame for the epidemic proportions that the laws have reached is 100% the fault of owners who purposely acquired the Pit Bull with the intention to abuse and fight the dogs, and that these owners are the ones who should be punished, not the dogs. (Davis)
They have twisted the dogs mind into thinking that they have to fight to protect something all the time. Pit bulls are classified as vicious and harmful animals. This is discrimination and is because of media skewing stories, ignorant people that refuse to listen to hard facts, and public attitudes and opinions. These laws against breeds are unconstitutional; there is no legislative basis for these laws. Pit bulls, like any other dog, grow in their temperament.
Even though pit bulls are the majority of dog attacks anybody hears about, they are loyal and caring dogs. All they want is the love and approval of their owners. They will do anything that they are told to do. Their strength, stamina, and speed fuel the passion they have for their owners. Pit bulls are not vicious by nature; they are good guard dogs fueled by the love for their family; and, they are definitely loyal friends. They have a lower temperament than many other well-known breeds; therefore, they are not vicious by nature at all. They are very strong guard dogs. Pit bulls are known to be a scary breed, so people stay away from them. They have an amazing amount of speed and stamina that they can use to chase predators away, too. Pit bulls are the best friends anyone could ask for. They are loyal and loving creatures that just want to please their family. They are good dogs to train to be around children. If the children are a part of the dog’s family, then the dog will protect the child at all costs. Pit bulls are a good breed to have as a family
Contrary to that popular belief, dangerous animal behavior is the function of inherently dangerous dog owners, not inherently dangerous dogs. One fact that supports this is that pit bulls are the dogs most often shot during drug raids (TELLINGS v. Toledo). Besides the pit bulls that are owned by drug dealers for status symbols and protection, many pit bulls are owned by people that breed them for fighting. These poor dogs have a very slim chance of living a normal and happy life. This is not the fault of the dog, but the fault of the owners that should not have the dog, or should care for them better.
Pit bulls and several other breeds of dogs that are thought to be overly aggressive and violent are being banned in cities and towns. Are pit bulls a dangerous breed or are they just like any other dog? Many people believe that they are in fact dangerous and aggressive by nature but this is not true. Pitt bulls are being falsely accused for being a violent breed and because of the negative aspects associated with the breed, such as dog fights and vicious attacks, they are being unfairly targeted in breed specific bans.
Pit bulls have been known as “the pet” for drug dealers, and other bad people. They have been known to be “the pet” for those people because of the fact that they attack people and other animals. Bruce Goodwin once said,” You can say all you want about these other breeds, but ‘pit bulls’ are the choice for drug dealers and other bad folks for a reason.” If you want to keep people safe, a ban on pit bulls is the best idea.
All dogs, like humans, have the potential to either be nice or mean, respond well or poorly to the environment, and interact with others either up to par with social standards or not. The amount and type of socialization
Pitbull’s should not be banned in the United States and kept away from other animals and society because of breed specific legislation, to do so would be cruel and unnecessary. Many people, when they think of Pitbull’s, automatically associate them with poverty, crimes, and gangs. however, the truth though, is that many Pitbull’s are either owned by people you know; or, sadly, in shelters, who, because of breed specific legislation, give them only a few short days to live before that are euthanized. Breed specific legislation is a term for laws that ban certain dog breeds in an effort to decrease dog attacks on humans and other animals, typically comprised the pit bull class of dogs. I do not believe that Pitbull’s should be banned from the United States because of breed specific legislation and that breed specific legislation should be legal in the United states.
What do you think of when I say the word pitbull? Do you picture a cute happy dog, wagging its tail happy to see you? Or do you see a mad dog, foaming mouth lunging at small child? If you are a owner of a pitbull then you probably see the happy cute dog. But if you don't own one then chances are you see pitbulls as mean dogs who are a threat to society. The media has painted a picture in our heads that it's in a pitbulls blood to be aggressive. Due to this false accusation, certain cities have banned breeds labeled as “aggressive”. If someone is caught owning a banned breed, the dog is usually euthanized. This is known as Breed Specific Laws or otherwise known as BSL.
“If somebody is too stupid to understand the fundamental immorality of dog fighting, you’re never going to be able to explain it to him” (Kevin Hench). Most people think that pit bulls have locking jaws. This is false however; no dog breed in the whole world has locking jaws. Dogs are not always aggressive how they are raised and trained determines the behavior of a dog. Dogs have tendencies to be aggressive only if not trained properly. The discrimination against pit bulls is wrong and uncalled for. Pit bulls are not the only culprits of attacks and death to humans. Dog fighting and stray pits are the fault of the people who own them. It is man kind’s job to take care of and be responsible for their dogs. Why should the dogs be punished for the actions of their owners? Pit bulls especially take the blame more than any other breed. This is an excellent breed if trained correctly. Pit bulls make excellent family pets to own because of the facts, traits, and the standards and guidelines for breeding and training associated with these breeds.
I mean they have their faults, but don’t all dogs? Pit bulls used to be well respected dogs, some even heroes. If pit bulls are around a loving environment, trained correctly, and if the media stops, pit bulls can make amazing pets. People don’t ever give them a chance to show how loving they actually are. So, next time you see a Pitbull, don’t jump to conclusions and think the worst, because now we know you have nothing to fear.

Their names are Zeus and Hera and they are some of the kindest, goofiest dogs I have lived with. My dogs love to play and cuddle more than anything. They don’t bark at people walking past the house, or at other pets and animals when they go on their daily walks. To me it is absolutely ridiculous that these sweet dogs are hated so widely across the country because PEOPLE gave them a bad reputation. The Breed of American Pit Bull Terriers is considered a “fight dog” breed today because criminals use them for illegal affairs such as protecting drugs and dog fighting. Pit bulls are extremely tough dogs, but it is not in their nature to fight. Fight dogs are beaten, abused, starved, and left in cages until they are sent to fight another dog. They are trained to act out this behavior that is not seen elsewhere. Humans train dogs to be viscous. There are rare cases where dogs are overly aggressive, however, in most of those instances the dog is a product of incest
