Recommended: Physical and emotional effects of marijuana

Cannabis, also referred to as “marijuana” are the dried up leaves that come from a cannabis plant. The color of this drug can vary from green, grey, brown, ect. (usually darker shades in color). Marijuana contains delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which is the chemical that is responsible for most of the effects that one goes through after using this drug. The moment one intakes this drug the THC goes directly into one’s bloodstream. It also targets specific parts of the brain, also known as “cannabinoid” receptors. Those receptors target the parts of the brain in which influence ones memory, pleasure, thinking, sensory, time perception, coordinated movement, and concentration. This then causes a series of cellular reactions that causes an Marijuana is set to be the most illicit drug amongst teenagers. Whether it is a state or the whole country itself is thinking about legalizing the use of marijuana certain factors should be brought to people’s attention. For example, what kind of example is being set for the current youth and the following generations that think doing drugs is okay? As parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, ect. How many of you all would like to see a young loved one getting “high” and thinking that it’s okay to do so? Not only will that teenager think its okay, but he/she will eventually get involved in other drugs. The use of drugs is not acceptable and that is the message that should be told and not the opposite. Marijuana can affect teenagers in school, sports, and any other extra-curricular activities they may take a part in. Reasons for this is because they begin to lose judgement and perception on those things. Eventually, these teenagers will not care about their grades, school, loved ones, or even on their appearance. It is a proven fact that teenagers have poor academic performance. With that being said it should be our duty to inform them how important those years are (13-17) due to the brain still developing, educational priorities, and the planning of their future. These teenagers need to be informed that marijuana is a drug and it is illegal. The sooner they get educated about this Drug dealers who sell weed will sell to all ages as long as they get their profit of money and continue to grow and make money. It has even been said that many high schoolers can agree with that it is easier to obtain illegal drugs rather than alcohol and cigarettes. Some things just aren’t meant to be legalized and this is definitely one of them. It is insane to know how easy it is to get a hold of this drug. This shouldn’t be the case. Rather than it being so easy to access the people should try and find ways to make it harder to get ahold of or at least inform all who are young, might be using this drug, or are currently using it the damage that it can cause to oneself.
