Did you know most kids get kicked off a team because of a disability? Most kids without a disability will make a competitive sports team. However, kids with disabilities and special needs have a hard time making the team. Some people might say kids with disabilities and special needs should get normal tryouts just like everyone else. Tryouts might be tougher for them and they should make it easier yet fair. They might get upset because they got kicked off for a certain reason also tryouts should include modifications for kids with disabilities too. My first reason is that they might get upset if they get kicked off the team. Disability Rights Nc says “For example, a spring sports team might move wintertime tryouts to the gymnasium because rain or snow makes outdoor conditions unsafe.” This evidence is also for kids without a disability or special needs. However, it is more unsafe for kids with disabilities or even special needs because they might have more of a problem with the weather, like ice they could get more hurt than others do. This website also says, “Note that in order to make the team, a child with a disability must have the skills necessary to safely play the sport, with or without a reasonable accommodation/ modification,” this means that they have to be able to play the game seriously and there are not any exceptions for them.
