Are you nervous about middle school? Are you feeling intimidated by what you think you’re going to face? Don’t worry, because I had the same kind of mindset when I was about to enter junior high. I was worried about the assignments becoming more difficult and about the teachers probably becoming stricter. But as I went through junior high, I realized that I actually had nothing to fear. Through my middle school years, I’ve picked up on some ways and techniques that make surviving middle school a little easier and a lot more fun. In order to survive middle school, you must have good study skills, be able to deal with or avoid class drama, and you must follow some of my personal advice. First of all, don’t over think something. Overthinking is going to make things more difficult than they actually are. If you overthink about the large amount of homework you have and convince yourself that it’s going to be extremely difficult for you to finish, then you’ll feel really stressed and overwhelmed. You should just do your assignments and tell yourself, “I’m going to finish this. I can get through this,” while you’re doing them. Don’t be too intimidated by junior high. Just think of it as another school year, where you’re going to learn even more than last year. Basically, middle school will not be hard unless you convince your mind that it’s hard. Finally, the last piece of advice I have for you is to enjoy your time and have fun in middle school. You are going to make a lot of friends and go on a lot of fun trips, including the 7th grade trip to Catalina and the 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. There are a lot of fun extra curricular activities to do, including drama club and yearbook committee. Try to make the best out of your time in junior
Since I'm coming to an end in my middle school years in a few months, I feel obligated to make a guide to help you youngsters transition to middle school, and even help people who are already in middle school, struggling! Hopefully these tips will help you in your three years of Hell on Earth. 1. What is the difference between a. and a. It's nothing like high school. I know, you're glad to get out of the same classroom all day, and that part is great, but don't think junior high is like senior high.
Albert Einstein once said “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that is it stupid.” Sir Ken Robinson stated that schools are destroying children 's creativity with their curriculum, there are many facts that support this idea. Students are required to think a specific way, prepare the way teachers want them to be prepared. Students also have their own opinion, because they are not afraid to be wrong, and need a way to move forward.
After high school majority of parents want their children to go to college, graduate, have a promising career and start a family and this is the American dream. Of course going to college will earn you a career and make you financial stable with certain jobs. To earn all those things you need to work even harder to achieve them. Going through four to eight years of college is exhausting and time consuming. There are a lot of stages you go through during college starting from high school. For me I can say that it has been a long journey but it is a well worth journey because of the reward I will receive in the end. In college financial aid, teachers, assignments, and classrooms are different from high school in a major way.

After a long summer, the time has finally come for Sam and his classmates to return to school. Sam dreads going back to school, because he knows that the first weeks of school mean long, boring reviews. Despite the fact that Sam and his friends do not like to relearn what they have already studied, they need to review because most students forget what they learned over the three-month break period. Many students can relate to Sam, wasting two weeks or more at the beginning of the school year. Parents, teachers and students across the United States believe a better option exists, that will waste less time, including the idea of a year-round school schedule. Higher academic achievement, benefits to the community and reduction in overcrowding

I’m not going to lie, high school is tough but, in the end you realize that, it leaves you with a great experience and great memories. High School has its perks and disadvantages. In High School you tend to limit yourself. There are strict rules you have to follow and a principle you have to listen to. In High School you have a total of eight classes. It’s a schedule that you follow every day from 8:00am-3:30pm. In High School everybody is separated into their own groups. You try so hard to find the one that fits you the best or, you just create one yourself. It’s a place surrounded by people that care more about what people
One of the lessons I have learned from the last four years is organization. Organization is a good quality to have when it comes to school work. There will be days where you’ll shove papers into your bookbag in a hurry but it is always best to go back and organize all papers. Somedays I would lose many papers because I shoved them in my bag. This has caused me to stress over papers I could not find in order to turn in and that affected my grades. In my first year of high school it was very difficult to stay organized but I was able to complete the year organized. It wasn’t till the second half of my sophomore year that I started to lose the structure in my school work. Having good organization is not just having your supplies organized it having yourself together. Being organized will make you feel prepared for your classes and you feel like you have everything in
Being a teenager isn’t easy. You have a lot of things on your mind, a lot of things to worry about, a lot of things to carry and when I mean carry, I mean both physically and mentally. During the 17 years of my life that I have lived so far, I believe that I have never carried this much before. Part of it I think is because it’s senior year. Actually I think that 's the biggest reason why I feel so much pressure on my shoulders. I’m pretty sure that everyone can agree on this, especially if you’ve been through it before. I’m not talking to the adults of course because I know your lives are difficult and what not, but I’m mostly talking to the teens who are currently going through the same stage of life that I’m in right now. Now I’m not saying my life is difficult in any means because I know that I
Schools can give responsibility to students but never without a cost. Students should have to chance to prove their worth to schools and show how responsible they can be as adults. When students go to college classes as high schoolers they sometimes tend to have more free time during those times. If a child has enough responsibility to take those classes they should have enough to leave school and be trusted to come back to school after their free time is over. Although leaving school early is not something that is smiled upon it should be because some students are ahead and can work their schedule to allow extra time because of hard work in early years.
In middle school, a student is faced with many social changes that affect success in school. The change from elementary school, where kids are mainly in one class with the same kids and teacher, to middle school, where students are rotating classes, teachers, and other students is a hard switch for some students. The relationship with their teachers isn’t as strong, due to the fact that they have multiple subjects. This makes it hard for students to get the attention they need. So that is why success in middle school is a strong indicator for success in high
Teens today face a lot of pressure. Many students deal with difficult life situations that hinder them from focusing on their futures. This can lead to a loss of interest in school and school events, such as a sports, clubs, or after school programs. Teens start to prioritize other things over their education. Every year, over 1.2 million students will leave school without earning a high school diploma in the United States alone (“11”). That’s a student every 26 seconds – or 7,000 a day (“11”). The United States, which used to have the highest graduation rates of any country, now ranks 22nd out of 27 developed countries (“11”). Students may not realize that by dropping out of high school they are more likely to commit crimes, become parents at a young age, use and abuse alcohol and drugs, and live in poverty (“Drop”). Dropouts make up the majority of those
After being with the same twenty students for eight years, I entered middle school along with nearly 400 other students. Middle school became a turning point in my life, and I knew I had to depend on myself if I wanted to achieve my goals. I kept my grades up and continued to excel in my honors classes.
