Guns are always represented as a sigh of terror, violence and insecurity due to which, gun control is always being a significant and controversial issue from both political and self defense point of view. Guns and humans had a shared part of the past history, during that period guns were used for hunting and protection from the invaders. The second amendment of the U. S. constitution even made the guns/arms more debatable on the basis of keeping guns as their right. Their is a no harm keeping a gun for self protection under a proper law and order, which will be regulated by different background, physical check and the awareness of proper use of the guns. As a reference from present day, there been news about shooting in Pittsburg which raise questions about the safety of the local individuals. Because from a report of 2014-2015 Pittsburg city’s crime comparison has increased from the previous year. As the violent crime crime comparison per capita per has increased from 2.7 to 3.3 per 1000 capita (Pittsburg Police). The rapid increase in the crime rate arise some question about the performance and availability of police for local population. In all above circumstances, a person needs a gun to defend himself and save his and his families life. The another interesting thing about having guns is who is buying the guns, from whom and under what circumstances ? The rate of suicide with a firearm is much more high than the actual murder rate and this can be lower down by passing the physical and mental tests conducted by physician. These tests will prove that rather the person is getting the gun is mentally strong or he has no mental illness history. As the article Guns and Suicides showed that , “In 2010 in the U.S., 19,392 people committed suicide with guns, compared with 11,078 who were killed by others (Guns & Suicide The Hidden Toll) . The mental illness can be caused due to the alcoholism, abuse and family history but, a medical check can help lower down the number to a certain limits. Moreover, the Administration is proposing a new $500 million investment to increase access to mental health care (The Fact Sheet). This investment will cause a huge change in the healthcare system and treat the people with medical illness to lower the rate of gun related suicides.
