You can hand over the keys or your life; it’s your choice. A person should turn in his or her keys if they come to a bar and know that they will get drunk. Since people who drive or use machinery under the influence are usually repeat offenders, there should be stronger laws about using machinery under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The main points of drunk driving include the laws and rank, cause and effect of driving under the influence and the tests and what they are. In all United States have point eight percent blood alcohol concentration as legal limit, commercial drivers is point four percent blood alcohol concentration (DMV). If a person thinks that the injuries are bad, every forty minutes someone is killed by a drunk driver (Random History). There is a seventy-five fatal crashes between twelve am to three am and twenty-seven percent of fatal crashes are motorcycles (Random History). Drinking under the influence is the major cause of death and injury and 40,000 people are killed because of it (Volti). It is argued that the drunk driver whose actions result in injury of fatality to another is not simply in violation of traffic laws, but has acted in grossly negligent manslaughter (Gottesman). In Missouri a person can get his or her vehicle confiscation, and penalties will be based on the previous records (Infobase). If a person has point eight percent of alcohol in their system it would take six hours to get it out of their system, and it might be faster if a person drink lots of water because water dilutes the alcohol (Random History).
