Part One: What About Me? Personality insights. I am an Introvert, Sensing, Thinking and Judging (ISTJ) per the Jungian 16-Type Personality and type B personality. ISTJ and type B personalities intersect where they have similar characteristics. As an ISTJ, I am conscientious, emotionally stable and open to experience; which makes me dependable, reliable, thorough, organized, able to plan, and persistent. (Kroeger, Thuesen & Rutledge, 2002). As a type B personality, I have a considerable drive to work hard and accomplish goals, but I have a confident style that allows me to work at a steady pace. I see things from a global perspective, encourage teamwork, and exercise patience in decision making. (Fretwell & Hannay, 2013). These traits complement the ISTJ personality. The possible careers for me are The unknown, the future, and the unplanned are all stress inducers. The Holy Spirit has taught me that stress is a result of fear; fear of the unknown thus the lack of faith. God says in so many scriptures in the Bible: "Fear not, for I am with you…” (Is. 41:10 New King James Version). By faith I know I can confidently face tomorrow. One of the ISTJ 's weaknesses is that I am stubborn, I resist change and any new idea that I do not support. The Holy Spirit has shown me the strength in such a way that the resistance gives me time to seek the Lord about issues. I do not have to make hasty decisions. I take the time to pray and wait to hear from the Lord. Honestly, the weakness has turned into a very powerful tool and has even taken away the fear of uncertainty; because the Lord always guides me when the surprises arise. I can rest in Him. The understanding that in my natural spiritual state, I have a sinful nature that only God, through Jesus, can address relates to the understanding of my personality. Through Jesus Christ, the Father can free me from bondage. (Fischer, 2006). Praise the
INFJ (Introvert, Intuition, Feelings, Judgment) personality style, a person with this combination of letters will provide a basis for easy determination such an individual being an introvert (I) who relies on intuition (N), feelings (F) and makes judgments (J). Such an individual is an introvert who uses intuition, feelings and has his life oriented in an orderly manner. This kind of personality type is not common, only 1% of the population have it. These kind of individuals who possess this personality combination have an inborn sense of idealism and morality despite this the can remarkably leave a mark on the world. The judging aspect is their great personality trait as it is the main reason they are set apart. They make serious steps towards reaching and realizing their goals, which makes lasing positive impact. An individual with INFJ can be quiet spoken, work and fight tireless for an idea, use love and compassion in their
The intent of taking a personality test is to determine which of the sixteen personality types a person belongs. Knowing your personality type can help you explore suitable occupations and careers (“Jung Typology Test”, 2017). It can also help determine which communication and learning styles suit you best (“Jung Typology Test”, 2017). The results of my Jung Typology Test revealed that I am an ISTJ. My percentages are 28% introverted, 28% sensing, 25% thinking, and 62% judging. Based on my personality type, I am one of four personality types that fall under the guardian temperament. From my research, I hope to learn more about my personality type and how I can use it to my advantage as I progress along my Air Force career.
For this project; I will be discussing the findings of my personality type. According to “Jung’s Personality Test”, I am an ENTJ. Various sources point to this type as;” The Executive.” The research I have done has brought tremendous insight into; who I am as a person, the functions of my thinking process and how to utilize my strengths to be more of an efficient/successful person. I also learned about the various careers the best suit my personality type which; helps me when It comes to job seeking after graduation. It is very important to know yourself and see how you can maximize on your God given potential. For that reason, I am very glad I took the personality test and studied this subject manner. I would advise everybody to do the same,
However, first and most important to identify and study my own personal preferences. Kroeger (2002) said “the whole process starts with understanding yourself” (Kroeger, 2002). He then goes on to describe INTJs as self confident, balanced, intelligent, independent, and competent (Kroeger, 2002). Typology has helped me to recognize the strengths of my personality but also the weaknesses. INTJs can lack in interpersonal skills, communication, asking for help, and teaching. They can sometimes come off as controlling and arrogant. For example, we recently put in new machinery at work which required each of us to have additional training. As a INTJ, I welcomed the change and quickly adapted the new technology. However, it was hard for me to be sensitive to the needs of other coworkers who did not understand the new technology and training and needed more time to
This includes organizational skills of when to study, when to spend time with family on top of how deal with my own sickness and disability, along with my children’s. My challenges have, also, grown. They include fears of starting new things, fears of whether I can accomplish an A (perfection), and fears of really finishing anything to completion. There is a lot of things I have given up on in my past. However, I forgot the accomplishments I have had. I forgot my Faith that burns so strong. And, I almost forgot, Christ is my ultimate Prize, goal and future even if nothing else materializes. I know I am an achiever and I can do more than what I have been settling for in the
As a type A personality, everything seems to come to me with ease; school and sports come naturally because of my constant drive to always be the best. A Type A personality accomplishes their goals and feels little satisfaction from their work, which can be troublesome and never allow a Type A’s to reach their full potential in life. Golf is a time where my Type A personality trait interferes with my performance. Over the weekend, I allowed my personality to interfere with my golf game when I attended the Chappy Wheeler Golf Tournament in Palm Desert. The game of golf has taught me numerous lessons throughout the years, including persistence, patience, respect and focus.
Within the Jung Typology Test (JTT) it states that my type of personality is introverted, sensing, feeling and judging. The results indicated I am an introvert over extrovert, the score showed 56%. There was a marginal or no preference to sensing over intuition at 1% for this result. Moderate preference to feeling over thinking at 25%, and a strong preference to judging over perceiving at 78%. So this is saying that I am an introverted sensing with extroverted feeling.
This paper researches the typical traits of the INTJ personality type according to the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator. Additionally, I will be discussing the opposite personality of INTJ, type ESFP. I will detail two past experiences where my INTJ personality posed problems. This paper will also explore strategies that may benefit the INTJ personality type, myself included.
After taking the online personality test I learned that I am an INTJ personality. Consequently, this was not a big surprise for me because I had already taken a similar test in my psychology class and ended up with the same result. I did not learn how accurate the test was the first time since I did not do further analysis on the exact meaning of my personality type. The 16 personality type’s website de...
My results said that I have an ISFJ personality. My scores were introvert (56%), Sensing (31%), Feeling (16%), and Judging (44%). The assessment stated that ISFJs frequently find themselves in occupations that either involves a lot of dealings with other people and require thoroughness and persistence. They work in organizations of various sizes and industries, where as a rule they work with people. Very often ISFJs recognize their potential in healthcare (nurse, patient care, and medical services, as well as administrative jobs) and several community care organizations. I do agree with some of the Jung Typology Seal assessments. I agree with being an introvert since I am a person that is reserved and to myself half of the time, but, on the other hand, I do like to serve others. I do not agree that I am overworked. If I get to the point to where I feel overworked, I will go to my boss and discuss the matter, so that I can get help with my work before resulting in some of extent psychosomatic illnesses. I agree with the part about working best with a small group or one-on-one situation. I also agree with the traditional careers for ISFJs attitude that include: teaching, social work, most religious work, nursing, clerical and secretarial work of any kind, and some
It is remarkable that by answering a few basic questions, a person can learn key characteristics of his or her personality. After taking the personality test, I learned my general personality type is “The Consul” (ESFJ-A). Individual traits of my personality type are more extroverted than introverted, more observant than intuitive, more feeling than thinking, more judging than prospecting, and more assertive than turbulent. My role is Sentinel and my strategy is People Mastery (“Consul Personality,” 2017). The results of the personality test offered insight into my overall personality type and its social and workplace implications.
Temperaments are something we are all born with. They display personality traits like attitudes, personal values, and talents. We can not change our temperament. It is what makes us who we are. We should be thankful God has given us different temperaments. A temperament is the the combination of inborn traits that subconsciously affect man’s behavior. Each temperament has its strengths , challenges, Qualities, and shortcomings. The four temperaments are melancholy, Phlegmatic, choleric, and sanguine. The four temperaments were originated in ancient times. They were originally known as the four humors.
