1.) Who are the main characters? (Physical Traits/Background not Personal Traits Yet.)
Within the text, Cheyenne Wilder was the protagonist, Roy, Jimbo, and T.J were the antagonist, while Griffin could have been classified as both. Cheyenne Wilder was a sixteen-year-old female with black hair and huge, round eyes. It was challenging for her to complete daily tasks as she was blind and weakened from pneumonia. To illustrate, “…high cheekbones, dark hair, dark eyes- she’s blind” (Henry 19 & 29). These were some of the defined physical features of the teenage girl. On the other hand, Roy, Jimbo, and T.J were gigantic, bulky men that were brutal convicts. The group utilized stolen car pieces to repair them and sell them for a higher price. At first, the characters were introduced in a Cadillac Escalade that was parked in a shopping center. Afterwards, Griffin and Cheyenne drove for an hour to a dirty house that was attached to garages and a barn. To elaborate the narrator says, “The house smelled funky like mold, cheese, grease, and cigarettes. The floors were bare. The paint curled up in long, rusty red strips. Behind the house rose forested hills where no one noticed if you shot a deer” (Henry 34, 35, & 36). This demonstrated how the structure that Cheyenne would shelter in was very damaged and discreet. Towards the end, the protagonists entered the forest and it was revealed that it was Winter, due to the falling snow. Additionally, the text was realistic fiction, so the time period could have been anywhere between the past and present tense.

• She sat in the car with the heat turned on while she waited on her stepmother Danielle to buy her prescription.
• Griffin broke the lock on the door and began to speed away with the car without noticing Cheyenne in the backseat.
• He refused to let her out, so he drove her to the isolated house in which Roy, Jimbo, and T.J worked.
• The men decided to hold her captive as she still knew too much information, despite her being blind. Rising Action:
• Cheyenne thought that Griffin was a horrible person as he wrestled and intimidated her with a “gun” that was a cigarette lighter.
• Griffin realized that it would be a while before Roy would set the girl free, so he provided her with lunch and engaged in a conversation.
• Roy gained the phone number to Cheyenne’s dad to demand five million dollars of ransom money.
• Griffin saved Cheyenne from Jimbo and T.J harassing her against a wall.
• Cheyenne escaped the house at two in the morning, but Griffin found her to explain that he would help her reach
