Personal Statement: Working Hard In School

Working hard in school has become part of my DNA. Coming from a family who has worked twice as hard to get what they want is so inspiring.I feel compelled to do the same. I want to go farther than my dreams. I want to work hard and feel satisfaction when I look back. I want to be the best I can be so that one day I can do the same for my children. In all, I think what describe my long term goals would be to get my Bachelors degree. Once I get my bachelor’s degree, I hope I can either continue with my education and get a master’s degree or use my bachelor’s degree to achieve great things. I find it exhilarating to be able to go to college and have that door open for me. But I also find it gratifying that I have worked this hard to allow myself to get higher level education. I have so much motivation to do great things. But I think for my dreams having a bachelor’s degree will only intensify how fortunate I am to live the life I am living. Having higher level education is not only gratifying it satisfying. To say that all those midterms and finals and hard lectures have paid off will blow my mind.I will have the satisfaction knowing I have expanded my options that hand me more opportunities. I think my motivation ultimately stems from my mother and father. They have always pushed me to do great things whether I knew the outcome or not. I feel inspired by both. They went school at the Napa Valley Junior College first. Believing that the world was their oyster; transferred to Sacramento State and both achieved their bachelor’s degree. My dad continued on to get his master’s in education and became a highly regarded teacher in Fairfield California. My mother became a Director of Project Management for a global eye company. They both understood that it was hard. It wasn’t just an easy story they can tell their kids or grandkids one day. They struggled to maintain grades, work and even friends. It isn’t easy but I am not expecting to be. I think a bachelor’s degree will benefit me in ways I would have not even
