1. Why do you want to become a member of the Student Ambassador Board?

As a student ambassador, I am able to represent the face of University of Southern California through the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work so we can provide information for prospective students and social workers of tomorrow. I will be a highly influential part in helping a person make the decision to join social work field and their decision to study at University of Southern California. As a student ambassador, we are able to provide valuable feedback to students on a personal level of why we chose this particular field and provide insight for those interested in a career in this field. The student should have knowledge of the social work programs, activities, and services available for the students. They will be working closely with prospective applicants, sharing opinions with focus groups, and recruitment events. With these basic requirements, a student should have cultural competencies and abilities to work with a diverse group of students. The Student Ambassadors need to be dependable, outgoing, and enthusiastic as a student ambassador and future worker in social work. Other skills that students should possess include the ability to listen, problem-solve, and react quickly. All of these characteristics are important to effectively share the enthusiasm for USC and the field of social work to prospective applicants.
