The minority had an afternoon of troublesome, conversely, a triumphant moment for the majority.
“A dentist is often called Dr. Bunot before” says Dr. Celestina Quijano, the University dentist. The stigma on the role of dentists as “Tooth Extractor” seems to be unbreakable yet the advent of technology and new discoveries regarding Restorative dentistry never fail on trying to break it.
I, as an aspiring dentist, would want more to restore rather than to extract a tooth. In fact, I was not able to see tooth extraction throughout my journey in the private dental clinic. A momentous afternoon not only for student clinicians but also for us, the future clinicians of Centro Escolar University, it brought us the perception of perseverance. I wholeheartedly reflected that we are about to feel the pain as if we are the patient sitting on the dental chair or the clinician who works hard while standing or sitting for hours. I can relate the topical anesthesia on my mother whom is the source of the best physical and emotional care in Earth and the local anesthesia for my future professors in College; they would definitely induce and influence me to be a dentist with clean and clear vision, a product of Ciencia y Virtud. Apparently, I reflected the gum separator on my current stage in student life. I actually live alone on an apartment here in Malolos. The gingiva or gums are my loved ones which I was separated with during weekdays. On the other hand, the elevator reminds me of the challenges of living alone, assignments of a regular student and tasks of a student leader. These things will definitely shaken my physical, emotional, and spiritual being. Nonetheless, I, the forceps, will pull the reward of living a faithful life dedicated to the Lord, our Savior.
