I completely agree with you on the ridiculousness of these newer rules. As a baseball player, I can most certainly connect to what you are thinking. When, I was an eight year old baseball player and running to second base, I was going to slide hard and late into second base. I was not intending to hurt another player, but this is just what I was taught. As for other situations, during my early childhood I would love watching the collisions between a runner and a catcher at home plate. That in my mind was one of the most intense plays that could occur in a baseball game. Growing up I was a catcher, and the rules that I learned my freshman year were not the rules that I followed by my senior year. Freshman year I was allowed to stand at home plate. The rule had changed for me having to stand in front of home plate and avoid any type of unnecessary contact with the runner. These new rules took effect because of the many players that were injured during collisions at home plate that have resulted in major injuries. During a game my freshman year, a batter hit the ball deep into the outfield, causing my team the need to relay the ball into me. As I got the ball the runner was getting closer and closer to me while not slowing down while I am waiting for her to reach home plate. The rules of baseball and softball are extremely complex, so only the basics are necessary to distinguish the sports. In both sports the primary rule is to advance the runner around the bases to home plate when the ball is hit. In baseball stealing the bases is another way to advance the runner, but this is not permitted in softball because the ball must be hit before a runner can leave the base. Baseball requires nine innings to complete a game, and softball only requires seven. The softball player is out if the last hit is a foul ball, while the baseball player stays at the plate until another strike is called or hits successfully. As one can see, a player that switches games must familiarize himself with the difference in the rules to succeed.

I am not out going enough to do slightly embarrassing things in front of many people, so I decided to break a social norm at home. I broke a social norm by asking my mom permission before I did anything. I did this experiment on a day I had class at the MCC but not at my high school. I first started asking her question through text. In the morning, I would ask if I could get ready for school, eat breakfast, got to college, do my college work. Then I would ask if I could leave the college, come home, and enter my house. Once I got into my house, I would run into her room before I asked a question. I asked if I could use the bathroom, get some food, eat food, and watch T.V.
I remember the year my Highschool team went to the state championship. My team the Kansas City Hawks went up against the twelve time champs The St.Louis Kings. What made them twelve time champs was us. Every time my team went to the championship The Kings met us there. All twelve times The King where the victors. Laughter filled my body as I fell back along the rough, hard concrete. Licking my last bit of ice cream, I looked over at my friend Katie laying next to me. The cobalt, calm Lake Okoboji was sitting at our feet, dancing to the rhythm of the wind. Our stomachs ached from a combination of all of the food we had consumed and the nonstop giggles from the entire evening. Pedestrians passing by were carefully stepping over us and probably thought we were insane. We didn’t care though, because we were having the time of our lives.

Leaving the bodies for last we walked down the drive to take a look. Several rifles and shotguns were leaned carefully again the big oak. Two handguns and some knives were on the grass in front of them. Four people dangled from a branch of the tree close enough to each other to bump like a weird wind chime. A young couple and the other twice their age at a guess from the gray hair and styles of dress. They were probably parents and a married son or daughter with their spouse. Other than being hung there were no injuries apparent on any of the four. From the condition of the bodies they had been dead about a day.
