2014 was a memorable year for me, this was the year I decided to do something I was scared of. That something was the sport skiing. The part of skiing that scared me was going on the big slopes because I didn’t want to fall and get seriously injured. So I never went on them, but I always wanted to because my friends went on them . I enjoyed skiing the year before because it was always fun even though I wasn’t as good as my friends. I was trying to get better to overcome my fear of the big slopes. I asked my dad if I could get a season pass at Ski Roundtop. That year in February was an important time. It was my dad’s year round ski event at Ski Roundtop. This was an event that was possible because of where he worked. This was the Phillip’s Group ski event. That was only my third opportunity to ski that year because the conditions weren’t the best that year. Their wasn’t enough snow and when their was it would be super icy. So this was the day I planned to overcome my fear. My friends that skied and snowboarded were going to be there that day because their families were invited. So I was planning on overcoming my fears because all my friends could go on the big slopes except me. So I was ready to take on what I haven’t taken on before. One of the main reasons I was so nervous was because my dad’s friend had a terrible ski accident a month earlier. He ran into a tree because someone else hit him. I went with my dad to see his friend and the moment traumatized me.He had so many broken bones and the doctor said their was a chance he might never be able to walk again. However he was coming to this event and started to get the hang of walking again which was great. That moment was still in my mind that whole day.
