In the morning we were all rushing to get to the beach in time. I remember it like it was yesterday. We went to the beach with some of my mom and dad’s friends. We brought a bunch of food and while we were parked our car got stuck. My dad and Francisco pushed it to try to get it out. After we finished pushing the car out of the sand, we started taking out the food. We packed Pastelitos, Sandwiches, Brownies, Cookies and much more. We set up our spot on the beach and I got right into eating. I ate a few pastelitos, and brownies, then just laid in the chair to get a tan. After that my sisters and I started burying each other I started burying each other in the sand. We also looked for shells and tried to see fish and hermit crabs. I remember feeling the hot sun and just laying in the sand just staring out into the sky and ocean. It felt so peaceful and nobody was too loud. I stayed there wondering about everything. I wondered about how far the beach went out to and about the animals in it as well. I thought about how it would be like to live in the ocean. I had so many questions that would just stay floating in my head …show more content…
It smelled of salt. I felt the cool breeze on my face as the waves came crashing down. At one point I decided to go back to get some more food. I started walking back to the beach and felt the little stones under my feet. As I looked in the water I was hoping to find hermit crabs but to my disappointment, it was just pebbles on top of pebbles. I went up and out of the water looking for the hotdogs and hamburgers we had packed. I then see seagulls eyeing my food. I decide it would be fun to play with them so I start throwing food until I see a bunch of seagulls just there looking for food. So I grabbed a hotdog and threw it as far as I could so they would leave. I was soaking wet so started rolling around in the sun but then saw it wasn’t making anything better. So I headed back into the water to wash
The next day we had pancakes that the hotel gives for breakfast. That was the best food I have had since the vacation has started. My family and I went to the beach right after that. The water was still cold, so I had to play with the sand. Instead of building a sand castle, I built a set of tunnel and stuff underground. Then, my little brother came and jumped on the tunnels and all of it fell down.
With every step I took I could smell the fresh air with a slight odor of the salty water. I close my eyes to absorb the gust of the early morning wind slapping me across the face. My hair stood up, dancing from side to side as if it was doing the Tango. I felt the crisp white grainy sand going beneath the spaces of my toes almost feeling exactly like sugar. The subtle waves played the music of nature while crashing onto the shore, hitting my ankles every time with tides that varied in size.
I lay in bed thinking. It was weird my life had changed so much in one
Next, I headed to Scorpion Ranch, and I set up my tent. Afterwards I watched the sunset from my tent and ate a pre-packed turkey sandwich. It was a very appealing sunset filled with pinks and oranges. I feel asleep to the sound of waves and the view of
I smiled at the thought of us lying on that plastic raft, soaking in the sun as our skin dried. We would then try to get our dad to blow up an inflatable boat so we could get back because we didn’t want to get back in the freezing water. We
We kicked our sandals off and dropped them, along with our shirts and towels, on a couple of reclining chairs. My dad and I swiftly lumbered towards the crashing waves and endless expanse of blue, frantically hopping and skipping the whole way there in an attempt to avoid scalding our feet as they plunged into the fluffy white sand with each step. We collapsed into the ocean and let the waves push us back onto our feet. Each of us gave our goggles a quick splash of seawater to rid them of any sand or dust that they had accumulated while not in use.
Somewhere else. I was on the white sand of the beach, and the blue, blue ocean sparkled with flecks of gold. I gazed out, watching my sister weave in and out of the waves, like a little fish.
We sought shelter in one of those goofy, bright orange family dryers and played heads up on an ipod. Then Emily’s mom called one of us and asked if we wanted to go get something to eat, so we ran all the way to the parking lot to avoid getting wet as much as we
They grabbed me and pulled me up to the surface and chucked me into the boat. They all yelled at me to get out of there lake. So i grabbed my fishing pole and tied a treble hook on the line. I then threw the treble hook into the water and snagged one of the mermaids. I didn't know where to put it so i crammed it into the livewell.
We went to the lobby of the bed and breakfast, and we ate a little the food there wasn't that good anyway. As we were driving we got into another ¨rain forest¨ and it was exactly like the other one boring and wet it rained a lot harder than its little brother. Right as I thought it would never end it finally did the 12 hours and 27-minute drive was done. For a little break, we went to the bay and laid in the water for a second because then it started to rain like it did in the forest as we were diving to are the hotel we noticed that all of the houses were on stone stilts.
I turned off the car and took a deep breath. Looking slowly up into the pink sky, I began to watch the golden sun go to sleep. The beach seemed deserted, quiet, but peaceful. I opened my door and put my feet out on the soft sand. I started taking my shoes off, then my socks. I threw them in the passenger seat, and then shut the door. I looked out over horizon of the lake and started walking towards the still water. With each step I took, I could feel the warm sand crunch between my toes. Then suddenly, a sharp rock, but not sharp enough to break the skin.
The first thing I would do is change into my bathing suit and run out to the beach. My sister and I would spend the day splashing in the salty water, until we were too tired to keep our heads above the water. Then we would lie on the soft damp sand and take a nap. It felt so good to have the bright sun blazing down on me. My favorite thing to do was build gigantic sand castles on the beach. My sister and I would have contests to see who could build the tallest sand castle. The grains of sand glistened in the sun like a diamond ring.
Every now and then, we passed a cute dog or found some cool shells lying on the beach. Our adventure was still entertaining, and it was a gorgeous day how could any of not be happy. Well, my mother who had accompanied us on this voyage was not feeling the same way. She started to get very tired of walking. Every 10 minutes we had to sit, and wait for her to rest until she felt ready to continue. That time she took to rest most likely attributed to how long this whole adventure took. Finally, we got to what we thought was the end of the land. Where the ground came together in a point. From a very far distance things tend to look different than they actually are. There were five houses in a straight line that lead out to the point. Along the water, the sand stopped and we could walk no further. Right along the side of the edge of the land there were a bunch of planks of wood sticking out of the water like there had been a dock there
All I could feel was rugged sand all over my body and in my mouth. Land, we had washed ashore! Then I remembered fully what had happened last night. I began to look for Tom. "Tom, Tom, Where are you!!" There was no sign of him anywhere. Then I saw the footprints in the sand.
But we did go on the boardwalk almost every night. Every night seemed to be different. We tried to experience everything in a different way. Coastal Highway, not unlike the ocean, seems to go on endlessly. When we were near Coastal Highway, I put my window down and let the smell of the sand and sea waft into the car. The rain had started, but it was only a light mist. The temperature had cooled off now too. I decided to take an evening swim. Some of the waves were raising nearly 10 feet. In the evening when we all entered the beach some lifeguards were announcing that tides are so strong. Though I was not
