Ever since I was a young girl, my parents always told me to persevere and overcome any challenges given to me. When I was in my middle school, I played the violin in my school’s orchestra. I was not very skilled at playing the violin, but I was determined to be in one of the leading positions. I was in the back of the second string violinists for over half of the school year. I practiced two hours everyday to become better at playing the instrument. Eventually my efforts paid off, my teacher transitioned me to lead the second string violinists. This position is important because I am the one who have to lead the violinist in the back. This experience taught me to be more determined and committed to what I strive for. Also it taught me that
...nt to have when achieving success in life. I learned how to really think deep about problems or issues that I have. Everyone can succeed by using the role of being a creator. I believe that if anyone attended college they should take college success strategies because it helped me become the positive person I am today. For me being a creator, made a big impact on me and my inspiration in life.
It also learned that the past is unforgettable and immutable. It made me realize that we are all capable of becoming our own hero’s, by simply accepting the call to action and transforming ourselves to return as the best version of who we are. While giving us the chance to explore the
...e helped me overcome the obstacle of domestic violence. My will and motivation was to get an education, better myself, and become a strong and intelligent woman. I choose to view this unfortunate situation as a learning experience because I am stronger now and I will never go backwards.
I was being held under with no idea when I may get up, getting tumbled and dragged along the ocean floor. Each chance I pop up and gasp for another breath of air another wave crashes on me causing me to choke on the salt from the ocean. This has been my experience in high school, and once I am graduated it will feel like I can finally catch my breath and ride that first wave.
These events have strengthened me mentally, spiritually, and educationally. Regardless of what occurs in life, at work or in school, I have the ability to overcome the obstacles and the strength of mind, a compassionate heart and the knowledge to succeed in any task I undertake.
Within my fifteen and a half years of living, I have experienced many heart wrenching moments that have changed who I am, so many that I stopped trying to keep count long ago. Like most teenagers, the past couple of years have been some of the most confusing, hectic years of my life. I'm at that age I'm trying to figure out who I am, as well as who I want to become. As indecisive as I am, I will more than likely change my mind a time or two, but right now at this very moment, I've finally come to terms with who I really am, and what I would like to do for the rest of my life.
This life lesson taught me to forget about the past and look to the future, which will open up many opportunities for
This matters a great influence on my life. The experience has moulded and coloured my whole life. It helps me nerve myself to face the difficulties. I am not scared of difficulties, and I have greater confidence to face
It was the tremendous amounts of arguments amongst my parents over our tight financial debt, which taught me how to manage, respect, and organize money responsibly during my junior year. It was the numerous divorce arguments I heard from my bedroom walls, which taught me that love is not only demonstrated through words, but through our actions. It was the death of my favorite cousin, my best friend, Suleiman, which caused me, to be thankful and joyous for every day I have on this Earth.
Perhaps my most gratifying research experience was also my biggest research obstacle. During my early undergraduate research in Professor Paul Sternberg’s Lab, I had grown to learn how to communicate science, determine the important experiments to conduct and obtain the necessary laboratory skills. These experiences came from my project in engineering C. elegans to express a photosensitive archaea proton pump in the mitochondrial membrane to explore how we can engineer a more efficient strain of C. elegans. In this process, I learned to construct plasmids using molecular biology and learned to introduce these genetic changes by injections and genetic crosses. Each successive step, I learned to troubleshoot and optimize. The hardest task to
At first, I thought orchestra class would be a distraction to my academics. After years of playing, I have noticed that playing the violin has only helped me. For example, it allowed me to concentrate more on my studies and it relieved my stress from my school work. Furthermore, orchestra class helped me connect with other musicians who have similar interests. Playing with a class of around sixty students is an experience that I will not forget. When I along with other violinists play along with the cellists and violists, we produce such a rich, harmonic, and melodic
I have learned a lot about my personal qualities, such as my strengths and weaknesses, and my work habits and attitudes. I have experienced much things (and it doesn’t matter whether that experience was good or not), now I know that I am on the right way and I hope that I would achieve everything I want in my life, if I would believe in

In 7th grade, playing the violin became a passion of mine. When I first picked up the violin with my hands and felt the string vibrate, the fascination of the functionality of the violin and the beautiful music that sprung from its strings flowed all throughout me. The rush of music took me by a storm, often making me practice for hours and hours on end, in preparation for my placement exam that was coming up. However, while most of my peers have been playing for years, whereas I had just begun, the upcoming placement exams were something that I wasn’t ready for. I had hit my first limitation.
