My father had his stroke on a monday of july 6 and had woken up to a blackened right middle finger and after a day of work, went to the doctor’s office with me. The doctor had thought it was due to the multiple medications he was on at first. He described the feeling as not very painful, just numb and the doctor also had discussed his age (37) at the time and the changing of circulation in his hand. James had felt nothing but numbness before this day and the discolor had scared him enough to go today. He described that it was a loss of circulation that had created a stroke that makes your finger almost die and lose most of its circulation. He said the bad part was when it had losted the circulation it started crowing a tumor that can develop cancer. James was shocked at that fact and told my grandparents and his sister that night. We were all horrified and wanted to help him fix it. The doctor recommended him to quit chewing and after some time he might be able to save his finger. After three weeks of james being irritable from tobacco withdrawal, he was recommended to have the end of his middle finger bone scraped off to remove the tumor.
