Personal Narrative: International Criminal Cases

I loved living in New York. The city’s streets were always busy and the diversity of the people residing there gave the metropolis strong character.

For ten months, I had been practicing law in the city and enjoying my job greatly until that fateful day when my fiancée ended our engagement. Shortly after the breakup, work became my sanctuary, a place where I did not have to think about my life.

I had an extremely important meeting with an exceedingly prominent executive name Brian Ross, who hired our firm to represent his little sister in an International criminal case. Mr. Ross was beyond wealthy and had attorneys at his disposal, but our firm had more experience handling International cases and his sister stood accused of drug possession in a foreign country, which was an extremely serious charge that could land her in prison for a very long time.

Since this was such an important client and my employer wanted this case desperately, I made sure to dress nicer in comparison to my normal meeting attire.
