Personal Narrative: I Clean My Car

One of the many things I enjoy doing is cleaning my car. Others see this as a grueling and endless task with no benefits. I clean my car as a way to de-stress and I like the satisfaction of having a clean car. It helps me de-stress because I clean my car early in the morning around 9 or 10 o'clock when there is no one on the street. I project myself as a neat and organized person and my car, or rather my parent’s car, reflects that. Would you sit in a car with empty bottles lying around, crumbs on the seat covers, gas bills floating around and a nasty rotten egg smell coming from under the seats? My answer would be “no” and I would rather take public transportation than sit in that car. People fill their cars with trash and dirt, never wanting to clean it, and treating it like a garbage bin. Another tip is to leave the rims for last as these places accumulate a lot of dirt. This is an excellent form of exercise and exercise helps reduce stress. Take a garden hose and wash the car with water until all the soap is washed off. Remember to close all the doors and windows of the car, so water does not go inside. Finally, wait until the car mats are completely dry and put them back in the car. By now, if your car mats are not dry, use this time to take a break come back in a while and put the mats in the car. Cleaning a car is a therapeutic act, by repeating the same motion continuously is an act of meditation, it is very beneficial for the body, physically and mentally. Now you got yourself a clean car that is polished and sparkling from the outside, neat and sanitized from the inside. One important reminder is do not lock yourself out of the car, I have done it multiple times, have a spare key
