We had planned our wedding for that next autumn. We chose an outdoor wedding with a rustic theme. The seats were white fold-up chairs with cushions that had a cowboy boot for the males and a cowboy hat for the females. There was a long white aisle for me to walk down, twinkle lights surrounding the outside. The bridesmaids wore strapless lavender dresses and carried a bouquet with lavender, green, and white carnations. The best men wore black suits with a lavender and green tie. The flower girl wore a tiara that included lavender and green carnations. She was dressed in a lime green dress and wore lavender shoes. Dance was something that I enjoyed doing when I was her age, and was distraught when I could no longer continue it. A month after enrolling Amber into dance, I found out that I was expecting again. This time with twins; a boy and a girl. The twins were born on July 10, only three minutes apart. We named the girl Marci Jeane, after my mother, and the boy Ivan James. Ivan being slightly older than Marci.
The invitation came in September the following year. It was time, finally time, that mom and Adam were to marry. I told mother that it was about time she tied the knot again. I know that mom thought that it would never happen and that her age played a role in the whole marriage idea. Nonetheless, Adam finally worked up the courage to ask my dear mother for her hand. I was completely clueless as to why he wanted to go out on a Wednesday, when our date nights were, usually, Mondays. I was told to get dressed immediately and wear something fancy. A babysitter was arranged for the children very quickly and within an hour we left. Emmett pulled up to a fancy restaurant, an expensive restaurant. We never went to very expensive restaurants, so I knew that something special had happened. Once our dinner arrived, Emmett took my hand and looked into my eyes. At this point, I was super nervous. I kept playing scenarios in my head as to what could, or did happen. Holding my hand, Emmett had told me that he finally made partner. I was so thrilled for Emmett, it was everything he had ever wanted. With the partnership, Emmett was offered a raise; a raise we both dearly loved. We celebrated some more that night.
