Personal Narrative: How My Brother Changed My Life

In my previous paper I wrote about how the event that changed my life the most was my brother being born. The fact that I am not very close to my family motivated me to write this essay on my brother. I hate family vacations, family fun night, eating dinner together, and other things that involve my family. I dread these family centered activities. There is, however, one member of my family that turns this dread into joy. The one member of my family that puts a smile on my face is my little brother. My life changed because of Jason. He came into my life and forever changed me into the person I am today. His existence is the main reason as to why I attended college at Western Illinois University. The birth of my little brother Jason changed my life by forcing me to be responsible for others and grow up. This was apparent to me as i noticed that as time went by I recieved less and less attention from my parents because of Jason. I am a role model for Jason whether I like it or not. This is a reality that I came to terms with. My little brother has been following the path that I went, except with more opportunity. He has me to help him whereas I was left alone to handle most of my issues. I got good grades in high school to show him the benefits of hard work, and show what it takes to earn them. I went to college with a plan to show him what it means to be prepared. I was leading his path by making my own path better.
