Once they had ridden by the old house and arrived at Hidden Gap, relieved they were safe. Looking across the field, the ghost-like house surrounded by large trees with long limbs hanging around the house as though they were hugging it. It was lifeless and terrifying, yet taunting them to return. The eerie silence terrified the boys, which only made them ride faster. “We shouldn’t have come this way. I better get my butt home before I get in trouble,” mumbled knowing it was dangerous. “You’re right, it is frightening,” stilling trembling, Kenny said.
