Personal Narrative: Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies, my favorite type of cookies. And there’s a chocolate chip cookie, my favorite type of cookie, on my desk. It’s a bit strange to find a cookie by itself on a desk. After all, it’s a cookie. Who would pass on a cookie? It’s a bit more peculiar that a chocolate chip cookie, my favorite type of cookie, lay on my desk. “Curiouser and curiouser…” I mutter. I decide to eat the cookie. I see no harm in enjoying a chocolate chip cookie, my favorite type of cookie. As I happily munch on it, I couldn’t help but wonder who would be so kind as to leave me a cookie? Do they truly know my favorite type of cookie? Why chocolate chip and why my desk? All these thoughts and queries disappear as I go home. The next day, I arrive back at my desk. Another cookie sits there. I frown. There’s nothing necessarily wrong receiving a cookie but I don’t know what I did to be so deserving of another cookie. Again it’s chocolate chip, my favorite type of cookie. I don’t really think of it much anymore, I just fell into the routine of receiving a cookie. The bliss of such a simple pleasure begins to fade. I usually give it to another classmate. Soon everyone has had at least one cookie from my desk. The whole class is intrigued by how this is happening. Why does Emily get a cookie but not I? It’s a mystery and we all discuss quite often. One day, I come back, ready to pass the cookie to another. But instead I find an envelope, I look around, trying to see who may have put it there.
