In all my travels, Southern Maryland is the best place to live. There are so many adventures to be had. From places to eat, to water activities and the fine art of our local artisans. We have every kind of cuisine you can think of. With the Chesapeake Bay in our back yards we are able to do so many water activities from swimming, boating to fishing. The sky is the limit when it comes to our bay. Lastly, we have a good amount of art museums and local artisan shops to explore and discover something new.

I haven’t always wanted to live in a different state when I was older. The thought never even crossed my mind until a couple years ago when one of my friends had been living in North Carolina. Around this time I had also been traveling to different states for some missionary work so traveling around really started to interest me. After hearing about North Carolina from my friend, I thought I wanted to live there; after some research I realized that maybe it wasn’t the best place for me, because I found Greenville. Although not perfect, Greenville, South Carolina would be a great place to live because of all the history, affordability, and easy-going way of life the area brings.
I believe that Southern California is a great place to visit because of the great weather and the beautiful and fun attractions to visit. This would be a great place for a vacation. I might be a little bit biased since on May 17, 1995, I was born in Southern California and lived there for the first 10 years of my life. I have many fond memories of the Sunshine State.

I was asked by my parents, to pick the state Missouri, or the state Virginia to move to because they got a job offer to the same corporation, and was going to get paid the same amount of income roll in either state. After my research, I came up with the state that I think would fit my family and me best. If I had to choose between Missouri or Virginia, I would choose Virginia because of many reasons. Virginia has better education, jobs, and economy. Virginia also has better activities, attractions, and culture. Finally, Virginia has more historical events that impact lives each day on how our nation first got started. That is why, in my opinion, Virginia is a better place to live environmentally.
Growing up in a small town left my life lacking in experiences and opportunities, I felt trapped. Nothing memorable or influential ever happened in Swansboro, North Carolina. From the spot where you passed the initial “Welcome to Swansboro, Friendly City by the Sea” sign, whether you were entering the town from the east or west, there were only a handful of assorted businesses and neighborhoods, considering the only road through was a three-mile stretch of highway, before you reached beyond the city limits and were headed to the next town. Living in such a close-knit, barely populated community greatly impacted my thoughts, beliefs, and personality. I would have preferred to live in Pennsylvania out of all the thirteen colonies. Pennsylvania was a very prosperous colony due to the fact that everyone had economic opportunity. Also, the people had civil liberty, allowing them to surpass the other colonies that had multiple restrictions. In addition, they had religious freedom unlike other colonies. Pennsylvania had many great features compared to the other colonies.
I wake up to the sun shining through the window and the faint laughter from my family downstairs. It's the first day of our annual trip to Rhode Island. I lie in bed for a few moments and think about one thing. Rhode Island. I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else than here. I glance at the clock and it is only eight in the morning, but everybody is already up, enjoying breakfast, and getting ready to head to the beach. It's not supposed to rain until later in the day, so hopefully we can enjoy our day at the beach before it rains. I eventually make my way out of bed and tiptoe across the frigid wood floors and join my family downstairs. Everybody is up except my brother, Thomas.
Growing up in New Jersey is not what it is stereotyped to be. When I tell people I'm from New Jersey, they think of filth and the all-too-famous MTV hit, Jersey Shore. The smell of the restaurants faded and the new, refreshing aroma of the sea salt in the air took over. The sun’s warmth on my skin and the constant breeze was a familiar feeling that I loved every single time we came to the beach. I remember the first time we came to the beach. I was only nine years old. The white sand amazed me because it looked like a wavy blanket of snow, but was misleading because it was scorching hot. The water shone green like an emerald, it was content. By this I mean that the waves were weak enough to stand through as they rushed over me. There was no sense of fear of being drug out to sea like a shipwrecked sailor. Knowing all this now I knew exactly how to approach the beach. Wear my sandals as long as I could and lay spread out my towel without hesitation. Then I’d jump in the water to coat myself in a moist protective layer before returning to my now slightly less hot towel. In the water it was a completely different world. I was born in Houston, Texas, and for that reason it has always been a home to me. Even though I love the quiet life of a small town (like Burns Flat, where I attend school), the lights and skylines of a big city have always stood for a lot of ideals that I hold very true to my heart. Opportunity, growth, and pride are just a few of these ideals that reflect not only how I feel about cities, but also how I view myself. I spend my summers and holidays in Christmas every year with my dad, my stepmom, and my stepsiblings and their friends, who I spend most of my summer hanging out with.
The deeper you go into the ocean, the cooler the water gets; this also helps the body to reach that comfortable temperature that helps the body in the relaxation process. During the decent, you can see many different life forms all around you, in the distance. Finally, you arrive at your destination and begin to see the colorful coral reefs as you get closer. Also, you can see the many schools of fish swimming all around; it transports you to a different place and time. When you are at your destination and get to admire the site, it seems that everything slows down, the movements of everything around you look so mellow and peaceful.
I will never forget the first time I went snorkeling, it was something I had been afraid to do up until the moment I touched the water. Beforehand all I could think about was what if I got attacked by a shark? I was too young to die and I felt like I was tempting fate. Then once I made the plunge into the water everything washed away, as if the waves carried the fear with them as they folded over me. I remember that day so clearly, rocking back and forth, up and down, I sat on a small glass bottom boat. The enormous ocean waves making me nauseas as I put my snorkel gear on. I hurried as fast as I could, knowing my nausea would go away as soon as I entered the water. This wasn’t the first time I have gotten sea sick, but it only shows up when the boat is sitting still. As soon as I got my equipment on I jumped into the water, fins first. I felt the sensation of goose bumps shivering up my whole body, tiny bubbles rolling over my body from breaking the surface, they ran from my toes upwards to break free at the ocean’s surface. Once the bubbles cleared, I looked around to see a new blue world I have never experienced before. I heard the sound of the ocean, mumbled by the sound of my deep breathing and the tanks of the more experienced scuba divers below me. It’s a very relaxing and peaceful sound, and if I had not been in such a new and unusual place I could have floated with my eyes closed for hours.
I use any excuse to walk along the ocean, especially alone and without my phone. The wind blew cold air, but the sun’s warm rays kept my body at a perfect temperature. It was three in the afternoon and I was calm.
