Chris Paul is my personal favorite athlete, because of his dominance on the court and his will to win. I not only like him as a player but also as a person. He shows good faith and outstanding characteristics. Off the court he’s just as a dominant, as an outstanding individual. Chris Paul has shown adversity throughout his life from his grandpa, to his college days at wake forest, to his time spent on the New Orleans Hornets, and now to his dominance on the LA Clippers. Not only this but also his amazing work as a philanthropist giving back to the community and supporting local schools and his home town. Chris Paul’s life started with some adversity. As yaeger notes, when he was still in high school, the day he was signed to wake forest his grandpa was murdered by 4 masked men. They snuck up on his grandpa, and attacked him and stole his things(Yaeger). Chris Paul was devastated by this and the next game …show more content…
Its called the Chris Paul Family Foundation because his whole family takes part in giving back to his community (Yaeger). The charity is based solely in his home town for the most part, that being Salem, N.C. His charity gives back to his community including scholarships for the high school. Also devoting money to wake forest to help improve it. It also partners with several charities including the boys and girls club(Yaeger). The best part about is that Chris Paul isn’t the only one involved in it, his mom and dad, and wife are greatly involved in it. Bringing charity to his hometown community. I feel Paul is definitely my favorite athlete not only because of his extreme competitive nature but his likeable characteristics as a person. He’s a great person with outstanding personal traits. He actually called for the people that killed his grandpa to be released because he feels they were young and everyone deserves a second chance. He’s one of the top 5 people in my book. An amazing person on and off the court, Chris
Michael Jordan, what comes to your mind when you hear that name? Michael had played for the bulls and had gotten 6 championship rings with the team. Well, is it just me or does that sound like a lot of time in the game of basketball? In 1982 he took a big step up from highschool to college, where he wanted to pursue the basketball dream. He went to college at North Carolina where he played NCAA basketball for just one year before he was drafted in 1984. All eyes were on him when he went on the court, because that just how good he was at the game of basketball. Michael Jordan is one of the greatest players in NBA history, maybe even the greatest of all time.
Every encounter Paul has with someone he creates a new identity to bond and connect with them. Throughout the play Paul creates multiple personas for himself, he realizes that he is an empty vessel with no past and only memories of what he has done during his different personas. Paul loses control over his multiple personas which cause them to overlap with each other. Which causes him to feel lost and in search of help, when Ousia offers this help he gladly takes it which end up putting him in prison and never to be seen in New York.
He was the most dominating force the sport has ever seen, perhaps any sport has ever seen, a colossus whose impact is felt to this day. He was the most unbelievable center to ever play the game in terms of domination and intimidation. There's no one that ever played the game better than Wilt Chamberlain. "This was a man for all the ages."
Throughout the history of golf there have been many players that carry a sense of dominance, but none greater than Tiger Woods. His competitiveness and the way he strives for excellence is one of the main reasons Tiger is beyond talented. Woods has the most decorative career resume along with being the face of a multi-billion-dollar company Nike. He has gone through lots of ups and downs in his career. Although his career is filled with incredible accolades. Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer of all time, and the first billionaire sportsman, but he also struggles with his actions off the course.
Paul's appearance does not change over time, but his unchanging style shows a certain independence amongst his character. In the book, he truly shows that the content of someone's character is worth more than someone's appearance. A great example of this logic would be when Paul is picked on by Erik and his friends for wearing his thick glasses and calling him "Eclipse Boy." The ridiculing didn't bother Paul much because he was more hurt by the fact that his brother would not stand up for him and chose to laugh instead.
Paul wanted everyone to think he was better than they were. Not only did he try to dress as if he were rich and important, his very actions displayed a great amount of disdain for everyone around him.
Michael Jordan is a former American basketball player who led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships and won the Most Valuable Player Award five times.
As previously stated, in the beginning of the book, Paul was super quiet, shy, and lonely. In fact, his only friend was his mom. Paul never tried to change anything, and never made his voice heard. He had terrible self esteem - mainly because he felt it was his fault he was blind, and had to
Paul believes that he was tricked into joining the army and fighting in the war. This makes him very bitter towards the people who lied to him. This is why he lost his respect and trust towards the society. Teachers and parents were the big catalysts for the ki...
On page 227 paragraph 13 it says, “I saw you face down Erik and those other guys, and I saw Arthur Bauer hit you with a blackjack.” This choice impacts Paul because Luis was someone that Paul cared about and to know that it was Erik and his friend Arthur that hit Luis that caused Luis’s death, will cause Paul a lot heartache and emotional pain. But this inevitably makes Paul stronger because now he has the drive to somehow get back Erik for all the horrible things that Erik has done. On page 245 Paul is very distraught because he finds out that Luis has died and knows the reason why. This bothers Paul an incredible amount that he even goes home early from school. This shows that Erik’s choice affected Paul because Paul will forever acknowledge himself as Erik’s little brother, the brother of the person that killed Luis Cruz and this is something that will take Paul a long time to get
The "G.O.A.T.", is coming used term in the sports world meaning, The Greatest of All Time. In the National Basketball Association, when you mention the term, the "G.O.A.T., everyone assumes of one name and one name only, Michael Jordan. Most Christians envied St. Paul or Apostle Paul because he was picked by Jesus to become an influential messenger of the gospel. Paul, who was first known as Saul of Tarsus became Paul when he saw Jesus Christ resurrected on the Damascus Road, which then he converted to Christianity. Paul was not taught the gospel, nor did he receive the gospel from anyone; he received it from the revelation of Jesus Christ. Paul is the author of 13 books of the 27 books of the New Testament Before Paul was a Christian; he was a persecutor of the Christian church. Before his conversion to Christianity, Paul was a Pharisaic Jew, and he strongly believed in following the tradition of his fathers. “For you have heard of my former life in Judaism how I persecuted the Church of God violently and tried to destroy it; and I advanced in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremely zealous was I for the tradition of my fathers.” (Gal. 1:15-16)
Although many authors referred to Paul as the apostle to the Gentiles, but it’s a fact that he was most probably the most significant and chief Christian preacher, evangelist, and theologian ever lived and who took the Divinity of Christianity to its new heights. According to the Book of Acts he was born in Tarsus at the close hour of Christ’s emergence in this mortal world. He was a member of the tribe of Benjamin (Phil. 3:5) and also was a Roman citizen (Acts 16:37;22:25). He was born in the Diaspora in the city of Tarsus in Cilicia, present day Turkey. At the early age of twelve or thirteen probably at the time of his Bar-mitzvah (an age when Jewish boys become accountable for their own actions), Paul might left Tarsus for Jerusalem to study Torah under the supreme guidance of Greatest Rabbi of that time Rabban Gamaliel the Elder, a Pharisee. The Rabbi Gamaliel is considered a significant and respected person in history as he was the one who counsels against the persecution of Disciples. Paul Walker is a man with a kind heart he always said “If you can’t have fun while you’re doing something then what’s the point of doing it anyway.” He was a good actor, a good person that will always be in my heart even if I didn’t know him as a friend or as a family member I still love him as if he was my uncle.
