If a person saw a penny on the sidewalk, would that person pick it up? Some people would pick up that penny, but others would not. In fact, many people in the United States think that pennies are not worth making. However, others believes that pennies are connected to our history and should be made. In addition, penny production should not be continued in the United States because penny cost more to produce than it it worth and penny waste time.

One reason why penny should be eliminating is that they cost more to produce than it is worth. For example, “it has cost more than a penny to make a penny, highlighting the silliness of continuing to produce the coin. It cost 1.63 cents for every produced”(Gore, 22). In this quote Dr.Robert Whaples is explaining that the time is money . People just do not have time accounting pennies because it is take too much time. Moreover, they are prefer to using credit cards or dollars because it takes not that much time. Also, ”If the retail clerk and customer spend just 2.5 seconds per transaction counting pennies, those seconds add up. Although this may be true, but there are still strong reasons to the end of penny production because if someone really want donate they can do that without pennies. In addition, a lot of people just lose penny and do not donate. the did not pick up them from the street, and government is just losing money for produce them.
