Have we killed off half the world's wildlife for the past 40 years? Can you imagine living in a world without animals? According to The World Wildlife Fund, “Earth has lost half of its wildlife in the past 40 years”. Everyday, species across the world are vanishing due to destruction of habitat, poaching, illegal hunting and fishing by humans.

Earth has lost half of it species over the past 40 years and we the Humans are largely responsible for it. WWF's (World Wildlife Fund) scientists recently discovered 38 percent of land animals population decreased since 1970, due to habitat loss and hunting. Habitat loss is a huge problem and we are the cause. We have been destroying their natural environment by building dams and cut down trees to build homes, roads and other developments. Many animals are being hunted because of their meat, fur and other parts that are very valuable for the poachers. …show more content…

Many of Earth’s marine species are declining because of pollution and overfishing. Oil spills and water pollution has been devastating for many species of fish and birds. Over hunting, fishing, and habitat loss are still the biggest issues in the world, says WWF scientist. The quick decline of animal, fish and bird population was calculated by analyzing 10,000 different populations, covering 3,000 species in total.
