Passion is by definition is any powerful or compelling emotion or feeling, it drives us to perform various actions, establish goals, and achieve our full potential. My passion for animals drove me to do my volunteer work and it still drives me to do more to ensure they receive the best healthcare possible. I came up with the idea when I joined my high school vet assisting program, and learned about the CVA program they had to offer. I was hooked, and my drive to achieve the highest standard of animal healthcare skills inspired me. I loved animals and I still do, and now I was able to make a real difference on their lives! My activity began with a simple email, and a whole lot of courage. I met with Dr. Ashley Kanzler DVM and arranged a date and time I would be able to work with her and her staff as a volunteer. This not only benefited myself but also the animals, the clinic, and the community as a whole. I benefited by increasing my practice skills, tolerance, and earning my CVA (certification in vet assisting) . The animals benefited from higher quality of health and foster care, and the clinic benefited from having an unpaid but skilled member of staff on Sunday’s that can aid in procedures, cleaning, and treatments. Finally, the community mostly by gaining proper pet health care knowledge and realizing what bad habits they may have practiced with their pets. In total, at least ten people were directly affected by my project and as I continue to volunteer I hope this number will grow in the future. I also hope someone will take my place in the future as I move on to bigger and brighter tasks to increased the standard of healthcare in the animal
