The brain is such a complex and interesting thing to learn about. I learned a lot through the three- dimensional brain activity. Starting with the frontal lobe. The frontal lobes are located under the forehead. These lobes play a key role in movement and reasoning. They are also connected with the limbic system. The parietal lobe is at the top of the head. The parietal lobe gets its intel from the skin, it is very important to processing touch and helping determine how hot or cold it is and the pain in our body. The parietal lobe works with primary motor skills which are in charge of our voluntary actions. The temporal lobes are on the sides of the head. The temporal lobes are very important to speech and hearing. Within the temporal is the auditory center, this is what processes the nerve impulses sent from the ears. …show more content…

The occipital lobe is very important to us, as it takes information from the eyes and processes it. A common name for it is the “visual cortex”. If the occipital lobe is damaged it can cause blindness. Under this is the cerebellum, in charge of very important daily functions like balance and coordination as well as posture. The brain stem is the most basic part of the brain, as well as the oldest. For as basic as it is, it is key to survival. It controls things like breathing, sleeping and digestion as well as maintaining body temperature. The corpus callosum are fibers that are attached to the left and right sides of the brain. The function of the corpus callosum carries messages to and from each side of the brain. As mentioned earlier the limbic system helps to regulate heart rate and body temperature along with the brain stem. There are two parts of the limbic system the amygdala and the hippocampus.
