Recommended: How does adversity influence the shaping of who we are as individuals/people

There is adversity in the world that we must endure, but which circumstances help us to aspire? Various obstacles rise each day that provide many challenges and suffering that seem unrecoverable. As a child, I was faced with a variety of stressful situations that enabled me to grow greater authority over myself through them. It is established that from these experiences some can be unforgettable and develop a greater sense of responsibility. Furthermore, the hardships we encounter help shape us and gain more knowledge towards our purpose in life. It is the physical, mental, and emotional challenges we confront that intrinsically lead to the development of a high quality of life.

As we strive to have a better life, we learn the best from our own mistakes. As Lauren Myracle once stated “We all mess up. It’s what we learn from our mistakes that matters”. This quote explains how through the challenges we confront, can benefit us in the long term. The numerous errors that I have made, have been instrumental in shaping me into the person I am today. It has been apparent since I was a young child that I have inherited a passion for music from my mother .Towards the end of last year, I found out that I was eligible to audition for the Chamber Strings Orchestra. This award winning orchestra is of one of the highest levels at Mount Royal University. I spent months preparing for this audition determined to get myself in. It was about a month after my audition, I was devastated to learn that I did not get a placement in the orchestra especially since I had dedicated so much valuable time towards this goal. This hardship was one of the most painful experiences in my musical career. Once I got some feedback from the adjudicator, I understood that I should not take it personally, and that there was work to be done. I took that rejection to improve my skills and have enjoyed playing in a different orchestra. Additionally, I hope to impress the adjudicator this year so I can have another shot in getting into that orchestra. Through this menacing struggle, I had to reevaluate my passion and was able to
